Fucking hell…any of you more “metal-centric” folks catch this?
As with any “tribute/festival” of this size, there were high points and low points. With that said, I’m of the opinion it was a great showcase of ![]()

Anyone want to chime in?

Had a couple of friends who went, they had a good time. The set times seemed ludicrously short to me but I guess it wasn’t your average festival.
I guess with all the generals gathered in their masses that was all they had time for.
I saw a couple of clips here and here. Ozzy sounded surprisingly ok. Most people seemed to be happy about finally seeing some pro shot daylight footage of Tool ![]()
If you told my 18 year old self that Billy Corgan would be signing Judas Priest songs with Adam Jones, Danny Carey, and KK Downing I would’ve probably stroked out….or tried to buy more LSD
And I just noticed Tom Morello ![]()
Er, from what I saw (youtube footage) he sounded bloody awful.
The band were solid, most of the time.
Ozzy was just Ozzy. Fucked.
I wanna know who designed that chair tho. That was bloody awesome

I guess we have different standards
But I did think he sounded better on his solo material set than with Sabbath.
Not seen any of it yet.
I see the crowd got a bit of stick for being muted, however I guess most would be old timers and it was like 10hrs in total of music wasn’t it which is a long time to stand!!!
I’ve been saying this about Ozzy for years.
It’s almost started a few fist fights.
People REALLY love that guy and I’m like…”Well, he ALMOST hit that note…”
Also, watching him step in dog shit and track it through his gaudy mansion on The Osbornes was the nail in the coffin for me.
But, despite these words, he totally rules. He is Ozzy Osborne.
Dude has Parkinson’s disease FFS, let him get his flowers.
I always thought “Mama I’m coming home” was shit, but in this instance it morphed into something a bit more poignant. Made this curmudgeon almost having a feeling lol
So my wife had a meeting with the deputy leader of Birmingham Council last week and tried to get herself invited to the ceremony where they gave the band the keys to the city.
Didn’t work out, wasn’t open to the public.
Couldn’t get tickets for the gig, which I wasn’t super sad about cos there just seemed a bit too much going on through the day.
Saw them headline Hyde park about 10 years back with motorhead, Soundgarden and faith no more, was banging.
But for a guy who’s probably counting down in months now, I think Ozzy did pretty fucking well, all things considered. When they announced it I was sceptical he’d do more than a couple of minutes here and there.
Shit man, I named my first born after him, he can do what he likes in my book.
Well earned. Would have loved to have gone.
I was also skeptical. I’m happy for him (and Tony, Bill, and Geezer) that he could pull it off.
Sabbath is probably in the top 5 of cultural influences for me personally; musically it’s them, Metallica, Autechre, ATCQ, BOC,…something along those lines.
My take on the show is that you could tell everyone playing gave a fuck. That sums it up in my book.
Boc forever. Secret Treaties.
When I said BOC I was referring to Boards of Canada…not Blue Oyster Cult LOL
those are some excellent picks my buddy
wow I had no idea about this show but saw the Judas Priest War Pigs cover and I love Rob Halford!!
Will have to check the whole thing out
I hope they release it more broadly. I bought the VOD and am able to continue watching it, but I know there was a limited window to purchase it. Not closing the browser window anytime soon LOL
saw Ozzy years ago at Ozzfest when Zak Wyld was the guitarist. Quite excellent and Ozzy mentioned his wife battle over cancer.
