Bit reduction like noise on dark reverb fx - BUG?

On one track with dark reverb effect I sometimes get a distortion/noise similar to bit reduction.
Has anyone seen something like that? I have OTmk1.

Edit: Here is an audio example (at 24sec):

Didn’t experienced things like that with proper levels before Dark Reverb…

I have got something like that before when copy and pasting the effect from one track to another (happens only on the pasted track). Reloading the effect fixes it, and for this reason I always have to set dark reverb settings manually (has been the case since the effect was introduced).

Sorry to revive a super old thread, but I’ve had this problem for years and it seems pretty undocumented. In my case, it was re-ordering Banks on my computer that caused the issue. After doing this I have to re-load all Dark Reverb FX on all the banks I renamed, then the intermittent problem stops. Elektron support advised against re-naming/ordering banks but I don’t know of a (free) alternative method.

Hope this helps someone!

i have a brand new Octatrack MK2 by the way and the issue remains.
After longer sessions the Dark Reverb creates a weird lofi bitcrushing noise.

still by the way :man_shrugging:

I’ve never experienced this but if there’s a way to replicate it predictably (I’ve never noticed it copying like the old post above, but I hardly ever need to do that anyway so maybe it’s the answer) I could definitely see myself using it on purpose.

I have this too…
had experienced it on MK1 and grey and now black MK2

I usually had this issue when I was skipping thru different project and i assumed it has something to do with the 16/24 bit recording settings. I will try and troubleshoot this some more today…

I listened to 00:24 of OPs vid and it actually sounds like sample rate reduction, which is very weird.
A very strong and quick change of a reverb setting (like pre-delay) can sound similar, though.

confirming it is somehow related to copying fx settings… perhaps between parts…

I am always able to get rid of this error by reboot
On no-error state I was copying trk1 fx1 compressor and trk1 lfo settings between parts and after some changing of parts the error was there… i didnt recorded it tho…

latest fw, but since this topic is here from 2018, its interesting more ppl havent noticed this…
**i was already looking for some topic about this some time ago, havent find this one until now…

Reminds me this, maybe related…you can copy fx2 reverb to fx1, but under conditions, otherwise you can get terrible noise…

yea, tested it now,
copying the FX2 Rev onto FX1 wont introduce the issue

will try to do more testing
