Birdcord - A Big Thumbs Up

I have one too. Main grief : a bit short. But I have a multi extend cable for pedals that works with it.
9v tip negative.

I have a 12v, plus a 20v for my Push 3 Controller, which works really well.

I had a 17v for an 0-Coast, but I lost it. 10/10 would buy again.

Just received a 12 volt pd Birdcord for my DTII. Works flawlessly. Dieter has a couple of recommendations on his site for powerbanks. I went with a Baseus 65w 20.000. Lost 5% of juice while playing for half an hour with the DT and MM2 hooked up. Really great portable solution!

Is the birdcord for the DT2 the same as for the DT1? I bought one a year ago for my DT1 but never used it, now I have a DT2 coming.

I don’t know, as I haven’t used any birdcord for the DTI. But just ask Dieter from Birdcord, he is a cool guy and a very fast communicator. Just explain your situation and he will help you.

I bought the DT2 when it came out, and before I returned it for a refund I tested it with the Birdcord and my Anker power block - worked perfectly.

just curious why did you use the birdcord with your Baseus 65, didn’t it come with adapters already?

It doesn’t. The Baseus 65W (20000mAh) has a USB-C port with PD and a max output of 65W and I believe a few more USB ports. So the USB-C based birdcords are a perfect match for this powerbank.

ok I see, when mine was ordered I guess the blindspot cable was an additional purchase, I forgot they didn’t come together lol

Anyone tried with the Apple 30W USB-C Power Adapter?

It does output to 20v @ 1.5A or 15v @ 2A or 9v @ 3A or 5v @ 3A so be curious to see if the Birdcord will try to power Electron using the 15v switch…

It shouldn’t.

I’ve seen 12V PD triggers output 9V when 12V support was missing, but never negotiate a higher voltage.

Not to take away from the Birdcord love, but anybody in the UK wanting a high quality and double the length 1.2m 12v PD 5amp USB C cable that powers a Digitakt II, then there’s a cheaper solution than exporting from the EU, at £7.90 + £2.99 postage from The PiHut 12V 5A USB-C 3.1 PD to 5.5mm Barrel Jack Cable - 1.2m with E-Mark | The Pi Hut and a 3m 5A USB C 3.1 Gen2 spec extender cable if 1.2m isn’t long enough USB-C Extension Cable for Raspberry Pi 4 | The Pi Hut

Been using the 15V version for nearly 2 years with the M+ and the 12v version is working nicely with my DII.

yeah I figured… Thx

Thumbs up for birdcord.

I’ve had the same experience in the US. Not to throw shade on Birdcord but there are many high quality PD cables out there for over half the price of a Birdcord. I buy mine from Adafruit.

I think PiHut sell the Adafruit cables, so we’ll be using the same cables :+1:

Which cable would I need to power a TD3? I have really enjoyed using the DT1 and the TD3 together lately, so would be great to power both at the same time from a powerblock.

Hey Buddy. I think I’ll buy your recommended cables. Just question about powerbank - can you recommend anything specific ? Have you tried their splitter cables?

and what about using this splitter to plug DT + DN ? would that work without any danger of damage? anyone has experience with this?
