Big fan of the 2-notch filter here
and the flexible routing options for delay and reverb open up so many options 🩶
That was the intention
still using the chords machine as drone/ bed in some patterns.
Iririum can do this easily, the best thing is it’s 5 internal FX slots (sadly no multiple delays allowed in the FX slots).
thank you for this sounds
Prophet or Virus
The best synth in this case is actually a sampler. I’ve made so many stabs with tons of different synths. Chucking them into a sampler with a good filter and mod matrix takes it to the next level.
Also put a small bit of verb and delay along with a little filter movement on the synth before you sample it. You want some movement and energy in there. Just sampling a dry stab with no filter or FX won’t get you as far. It’s all about stacking little layers of movement each time you sample the sound.
@re-fraction we are a lot that love your dub techno idea
Thank you again
Thank you
Digitone is my current favorit device for dub techno chords. But in my opinion all poly devices is capable of some type of chord stabs. I’ve used all type of sources to achieve it. If you work with samples VST or even an iPad software synthesiser works great. Everything that be constructed as a chord, even a mono synth sampled and layered can achieve a chord.
Yes this track is completely done with Digitone, this was a project I did some time ago trying to learn the DN better and make use of the 8 voices as much as possible.
Now I’m working on a similar project with the DNII. Here’s a short clip from a work in progress dub techno pattern with the DNII
I have made a series of tracks with the DNI only, I’m currently finalising them for YouTube and it’s going to be a complete album soon.
Me personally, i love this since a been longtime.
I hope one day the patreon or similar projects and soundbanks sharing as we can take them as reference for study
Keep your fantastic projects
Those sounds are really goods, I love It.
I have Digitone 1 and 2 and although I get good results with dub chords, I don’t get them like yours…
I suppose the final process of reverbs and delays was with another team?
ITB - Plogue PortaFM and FORS Pivot (even the kite version)
OTB - MegaFM, Pro-800, DN
But as mentioned earlier - the secret is the sampler.
Round robin some chord stabs, load into sampler, modulate all the things.
Dub techno = samplers (samplers have filters/eq, some even analogue filters) & fx
no need for synths, you can lift samples from wherever
Oscillators, filters and fx*
Samplers, filters, fx
I keep coming back to my og Digitone for these type of chords.
Here’s a simple pattern ran through a bunch of Eurorack filters and fx.
The fm really comes alive when combined with external modulation.
Drums/perc by some modules and Deluge
Bass by BIA
Awesome bass, lovely filtered chords. My kinda music. Well done!
… a vote for DNII (check the audio file over there) ![]()
Here’s a vote for the Syntakt ![]()
This is done with eight tracks of the Syntakt SY Chord machine only.
Straight from the ST, no additional processing.
