so I want to MIDI control my Rytm, A4 and Digitone from my OT as the central hub. Looking for ideas and settings to best accomplish this goal. I also have an Analog Heat that to my surprise has MIDI as well.
comes down to a MIDI table per device Rytm, A4, DT or List of Prog Changes… there is so much ways to control them it would be interesting what you want to achieve in the sense of “control” them.
From years of live-set experience i learned to keep things simple and control machines one by one and only route signals i desperately need to control in sync with one human interface (slider or choosen Sequence), which is mostly used for sending Program Changes commands, Mute signals or one particular set of CC values in a sequence, PitchBend, Aftertouch or lets say roughness of a reverb/length of a delay - which makes musically sense. The more sophisticated i made my setup i always had the feeling of loosing control rather then reaching more control of the sound.
So her to hear what you are up to.
thanks I am thinking of controlling the A4 and Rytm from the OT as the master MIDI clock and keeping the Digitone and Heat separate. I will experiment tomorrow. Built some banging beats tonite on the OT and Digitone so I am happy and will record to the TX-6. Now I need a desk tabletop poly synth. Virus plays well but full keyboard in other studio. Maybe I will get a desktop second Virus next year or maybe Waldorf M to play with these or Erica Bassline but the A4 hits hard with bass and pads and less gear to manage is easier on the brain and pocket.
