Thank you yeah the ipad sampler and granular apps killed me GAS for a while. I am also exploring things on my other gear to dive deeper. I love wave table and granular synthesis so other than a MIDI router like the always out of stock Conductive Labs MRCC MIDI Router Control Center that my friend has and offloading the larger unused mixers and tube amps, nothing really needed in my studio at the moment. I do want a Waldorf M 16 voice synth though and few other things after I sell gear.

Are the 404mk2 and MPC Sample the main portable sampler options?

I have the digitakt 2, but was thinking about having a portable option that didn’t need a cable attached the whole time.

404mk2 has always been on my radar but looks like a beast to learn.

I have both and they overlap in a lot of ways but for portability I give it to the MPC Sample because of its internal battery and surprisingly useful little speaker. It also has a mic. The 404 runs on 6 double A’s which can be annoying.

There’s the Sonicware Smpltrek.

Dirtywave M8 is a beast for sampling

OTOH, you can buy AA batteries anywhere in the world and never have to worry about cycles or battery life.

That’s nice. Still annoying.
