Web development & maintenance requires time, effort and skill. Just going into WP Admin and clicking “update” is more than most people seem to want to handle, hence the thousands of hacked WP sites filling up spam folders everywhere.
A good social media presence is more valuable than a website for most artists anyway. You’re more discoverable/shareable on social media than on a website, where you have to work harder to drive traffic to.

I already have/use Bandcamp and soundcloud accounts. But I want somewhere where everything in one place and be able to have some control over the aesthetic. All media, releases/links/dates and info. Audio/video will still be shareable/hosted on soundcloud/bandcamp/YouTube/label sites etc. Just linked all together. Tho I can see how that’s not gonna get the amount of shares that posts from an FB account might get. Not fussed about social media atm tbh tho. Maybe go back to instagram some point but pretty done with FB/Twitter and thinking about how many ‘likes’ stuff gets etc. Leave that to labels/promoters. I don’t have the time/energy for it these days… Barely got time for the music side of things…
I haven’t gone through everyone’s links above yet but prob look at WordPress or Squarespace (and pony up a little £) from what I got from skimming through.
