I’m looking for a 49/61 key controller to house my Rev2 Desktop on top of, if possible… picture the scenario of a regular X-keyboard stand needing to accommodate the keys and the synth module.
I’m limited for space, so I don’t really have the space for a two tier stand.
I’m surprised no one’s addressed this properly yet… you’d think there’d be a market at least for a bracket to attach to the more popular controllers to sit modules onto…
Can you add a keyboard shelf under your current desk, allowing the desk to be the space you put your desktop synths on? Or does it have to be separate from the main spot?
That’s a good point, and it is a possibility… I do like to have the controls directly above the keys and in front of me though. I also mainly play keys with my right hand and change settings with my left (apart from bass parts…), so the modules on the right wouldn’t be ideal.
Its got me thinking of just adding a plank to my current stand so I can add a laptop stand to hold the Rev2…
I have a nice piece of plywood (lightly stained it) from the hardware store, it’s tucked away when I want to make my keyboard stand into an extra desk.
I like the Novation SL61 mk3 cause it let you do some automations with the controls you’ve mapped, and it offers lots of encoders and faders. The sequencer and arp are pretty good, and you can put e.g. a DN in-between to record what you’ve played.
I have made a small wooden stand to put my OB-6 above, it’s a pleasure to play with.
