Behringer MS-1 [was MS-101]

There is no local control on/off option on the MS-1. It’s always on. You could turn the volume down to zero and use it as a basic midi keyboard.

would be cool te remove the keys and mod it into a desktop

This would be so cool.
I keep hoping behringer to release ms-1 and also rd8 as modules.

Hi,

here’s a demo with presets for Electronica, Ambient and Techno. Maybe you find it useful.

Does anyone know the range of the keyboard when used as a MIDI to CV gate converter? And does it pass through glides (overlapping notes) like the TD-3?

Behringer announced that the MS-101 MK1 is now on sale for 200 at Thomann and some other shops until the MK2 gets soon released.

In no way do I need another hardware analog mono synth, but this price reduction might make it too good to pass up.

Dangit. Lol

£165 for the blue version today at Thomann. My order is in.

Is it possible to set internal clock to a precise BPM on this keyboard, using its own controls? Or do you need to sync it to something?

Man, even if it does not sound identical to the OG it is an awesome price. If I didn’t own one already I would get one now. It’s a great synth.

I cant see anyone getting one for £165, they are not in stock and have no restock date. Much more likely they will release the mk2 and you will be refunded, smells a bit like bank balance manipulation.

They are at $199 at Sweetwater, here in the US, but backordered until late March/early April. I guess we shall see!

Sweetwater is now saying “just a few days,” so I ordered one.

Still curious about setting tempo if anyone knows…there’s no screen on this machine, but I could see how it would be possible to use the LEDs to indicate specific BPM…

Tempo can be governed by clock from another machine and there is a sync input but the lfo is free-running.

I was told late March, early April. Just FYI.

There is also a high likelihood of Behringer dropping an mk2 that addresses a lot of the flaws inherent in the mk1, so you have been warned.

A $210 clone of a vintage synth I have no hope of ever owning that I can share with my young kids is exciting to me.

Thank you for the info!

Noted! I knew that was coming, but $200? Can’t say no to that

The mk2 has been announced and should be available soon ( though that was announced ages ago)

They’re just clearing dead stock to make space for mk2

Same here. I have wanted an Sh-101 since seeing Memory Tapes perform with one and also realizing it was responsible for so many synth sounds in songs I love!

I also have hope that my kids will be attracted by the bright red color and the fact that mommy isn’t hiding it from sticky hands, misfired Nerf shots, soccer balls, etc.

Got one of the $199 MK1’s and loving it but ran into a weird issue. For some reason I can’t seem to change the arp type from the default. I had thought when the arp is engaged you either press the left/right page buttons or numbers of the sequencer buttons to change it from like “up to up and down” etc… but none of those button presses change the variation.

Sync is set to auto and I’m usually sending it ext midi clock. Did a later firmware update change how this functions?
