X32 Compact digital mixer + SD16 stagebox - Excellent value, used in my home studio, in the rehearsal room and live since about 5 years - never had a problem, great mixer.
Model D - Sounds good, tuning a bit unstable, needs a long warm-up and some minor recallibration from time-to-time (but not that different from a Moog I had 20 years ago). No technical issues, 5 years old. Unfortunately the firmware cannot be user-upgraded on my version, would need shipping to Behringer and I noticed this after the 3 year warranty …
2600 (Gray Meanie version) - Very good synth, a lot of fun to use, no major issues, spring reverb is quite noisy but I guess this is to be expected. 1,5 years old.
So no issues so far on my side with Behringer gear quality.
Well I’ve just had my umc 1820 totally die on me, all it does now is power on and it looks like it will be going in the bin/ recycling.
Tried to register on the music tribe site for some kind of support but that doesn’t work either and i can’t register. It did last about a year and a half but such a waste of plastic and components going to the skip.
Yeah I reckon behringer are tolerable for gear like the td-3, and pedals and the like but anything serious that you depend on, you are safer spending more for something decent.
Given their huge catalog, there’s gonna be highlights and really bad ones. Behringer had decent quality gear already 20 years ago, but also a lot of not so good quality gear. Maybe the ratio has gotten better, can’t really tell, I only have four of their products, but their synths seem to be really good.
I have a B-1 large-diaphragm condenser mic a friend of mine gave me. It’s around 15 years old, I think. Costs 70 bucks today (so really budget line) and it still works well. Quality seems ok. It has taken quite the beatings over the years, especially when my friend used it, but doesn’t seem to have done anything to it!
I have a BCR2000 midi controller, also from a friend. It’s over 20 years old and also still works. I had to replace a capacitor some time ago, because it would randomly lose usb connection, but after that it continues to work.
I have their balanced patchbay. Bought it new a few years ago. Developed problems pretty soon after I bought it on several channels, but that should be easy to repair. That’s probably the one piece of equipment where I didn’t get so lucky, but of course it could be a problem with the one I got, not necessarily all of them have to be bad.
The Syncussion I bought last months looks and feels very nice. Seems to be solid, but can’t say much other than that.
I think they are offering 3 year warranty on their products but it
‘requires’ registering your product in 3 months after the purchase on music tribe afaik.
Right that is if you can even register on the buggy as hell musictribe site, good luck, i’m cutting my losses and not wasting anymore time trying to get the bloody thing fixed.
This! What a shitshow. Could not upload the receipt on mobile and it bugged couple of times even on desktop.
Plus it is so hard to even find the place to register the product
My experiences with behringer gear have been overwhelmingly positive. The only stuff I recall being buggy for a long time was the RD-8 MKI I got as soon as they were out.
On the physical hardware side, nothing’s ever broken on my units so far. In my book, that puts Behringer solidly in the midtier camp of music gear. I do remember the 90s when Behringer products were much more shitty though…
does anyone know whether or not the ultrafex II, ultrafex pro, dualfex II/dualfex pro/dualfex are worth owning? or which is the better or all of these?
I had a Behringer WASP that was fine except for MIDI issues so I returned it. I could not get any of my sequencers to work with it. Bummer as it sounded cool. Anyone have the Behringer LinnDrum?
