Hi everyone,
I recently got a second hand Analog Rytm and when i checked individual outputs i found some really strange technical issue on the BD/BT output.
When I plug a TRS cable from the BT/BD output to my soundcard I don’t get almost any sound.
I only get sound when I put the jack halfway in the BT/BD output.
Other individual outputs works properly.
Then i checked the panning.
When i plug a headphone into the BT/BD output i don’t have BD on the left and BT on the right. They just seem to act like a single mono signal.
When i put the headphone halfway in the BT/BD output i got both BD and BT on the right.
Other outputs seems to work well, for example:
Left: LT Right: SD
Left RS/CP Right: CY/CB
I did a a factory reset just in case but, as expected, nothing changed.
Upgraded to OS 1,02D too.
Did someone experienced the same problem with an Analog Rytm?
What am i supposed to expect from Elektron customer service in that type of hardware technical issue?
I’ve yet to test this myself, but could it be that the BD/BT out is actually a summed TRS balanced mono output? IIRC user Kotare is using the BD/BT out as a TRS mono source and said it worked fine…
If that actually were the case, Elektron shoulda at least mentioned it in the manual… But could explain your anomaly. If so, you need to use a TRS-TRS cable and you audiointerface input must accept balanced connections for it to work properly…
Jest tested (checked), but mine is fine BD1 is left and BT5 is right, all other groups are fine too, just use a blank kit on a blank pattern and lay out 12 consecutive trigs for each track (paired voices appear as you’d expect), so fine here, i’m on 1.02F fwiw, not publicly downloadable, but same as D
Thanks a lot for your answers.
I did all the test but it seems like there is a hardware failure in my BT/BD jack output.
I’m going to send it to repair, just hope they are not too slow…
yes thats a hardware issue for sure, try shine a torch in the sockets see if theres any foreign bit stuck in there or if it looks the same as the other individual out sockets. also look for any bent metal contacts or similar
