Whatsup guys! In juli 2021 we did the first Elektronauts hiphop beat battle and started a great run which has produced hundreds of amazing beats, lots of discussion and feedback, and 31 winning entries so far.
This month marks the official 3 year anniversary of the beat battles. Congratulations to everyone who ever joined one of these! To honour the anniversary me and @doug decided to go back in time and use similar rules to the first battle, but with a Summer theme.
Rules:
Because its summer, this editions theme is âSummer Vacationâ.
Anyone who wants to join in has to supply a single sample for everyone else to use before the deadline (friday 26/7) by posting it to this thread. This can be a youtube video, a link to a sample, or a sound file youâve recorded yourself. Summer themed songs are highly appreciated!
If you join the battle, you have to make a beat/song/instrumental in which you must use exactly three of the samples supplied by the others. You cannot use less or more than three of the samples provided. You cannot use the sample you supplied yourself.
The track can be no more than 3 minutes long.
Besides these three samples you are free to use any other one shots, synths, drumbreaks or instruments you want to use.
The deadline for submitting your song is friday 26/7. You can submit the song by sending it to me. You can only submit one single beat for the battle!
After that, voting will commence in the traditional format: Youâll receive a point for each 3rd place, 2 points for each 2nd place and 3 points for each first place vote you receive.
Thanks man! I adjusted it. The deadline for posting samples is the same as the deadline for sending in the final beat, but please post a sample as soon as possible guys!
Finally going to try one of these, mostly to see if I can finish a track for once. For my sample Iâm adding a simple drum break I recorded on my phone a few weeks ago while I was waiting for my band to setup for practice. Should at least be some nice âroomyâ hits in there
Thanks for the invite. Iâll be trying to master the 404mk2. Since itâs summer I came to remember a compilation of 60s Sunshine Pop that I bought in the 00s. On it was this song:
