Bandcamp pages ultra-slow loading

Just checking… is anybody having problems with ultra slow Bandcamp today?
I just set up a new account with talktalk and some pages are really slow and others not. Bandcamp is ultra slow for me with minutes wait between tracks and even timeouts. If other people are experiencing the same issue I can stop trying to fix the problem and wasting hours talking to tech helps…

works fine for me, both on web and mobile

Thanks. Damn, I’m stumped by this and so are the talktalk tech helpers. Tried clearing cookies, resetting the router. Speed tests are all showing good speeds but I’ve got pages taking ages to load. Google Chrome won’t download, yet sites such as this one seem to be unaffected.

sometimes it’s a dns issue, could be the isp, have you tried mobile without wifi?

I haven’t tried that but I’ve tried turning the wireless functionality of the router off to try to simplify the issue but it’s just the same. I could go outside and try to connect and see what’s up I suppose.

switching wifi off on router won’t change the internet provider, you can try use the mobile’s cell network and use it it as the router with a hotspot feature or just try browsing on the mobile without wifi connected…

I tried on PC running windows 10 on edge browser (I know right? but anyways) no issues with that. I can try on an android tablet if it will help but it sounds like you are specifically having an issue as opposed to bandcamp themselves.

I’d also try another internet provider / mobile hotspot / pirate the neighbors open wifi / FBI van etc.

just tried it outside and Bandcamp is loading fine so I suppose it’s a router issue.

if other sites loading properly but some don’t then it could be that the isp having some issues with their dns servers, it happens, I would wait a day and if it’s not resolved try to factory reset the router…

I’ve done several resets already and I had a tech help supposedly try to change my router settings remotely. I turned it off for 30 mins and she was supposed to call me back… can you guess what didn’t happen? Right, so she didn’t call back and I had to go back to square one and explain the whole thing to another tech and go through the various checks that have already been done.

now this site is hanging too

it sucks but at least you know that’s the problem, worst case, backup your connection settings and try factory reset, it might be a router malfunction too, hand bunch of dlink/tplink routers in my life that suddenly decided to malfunction.

it’s a brand new router, they sent it yesteday

Does not sound like a coincidence then. Is your television service linked to your wireless internet or different companies?

but it was happening with the previous router also… they really screwed this up. I have had no connection for nearly 3 weeks because they mistakenly routed my internet to somebody else’s router and tech helps were completely confused because their equipment showed the router receiving internet. yesterday a BT tech connected me but immediately it became obvious that things were not right. I’ve spent at least 6 hours on the phone over the past week deaking with talkytalk amnd their nightmare hold music from Hell. I was on the phone for 2 hours straight yesterday and the tech help was close to tears. I felt really sorry for the guy.

television? what’s that?

It’s a box that eats your soul, don’t worry about it. It does sound like it’s trying to pull signal from somewhere not local, maybe on their end they have you routing through a relay site that’s too far away. I assume you had to verify your physical address with them?

My internet is part of a cable tv package (not that I watch it) so first thing I do is check to see if the cable is out or messed up.

It distracts you and while you are being entertained it ties you up and then injects poison then you are sucked dry.

I pay extra for that!

I have had to verify every damn thing a zillion times, it’s incredibly tiresome.
