i have modelled the arp behaviour, it’s possible with an external script running on Mac or iOS…

and it would be quite cool actually

obviously there’s the caveat that the arp can go much faster than the normal steps… so if it’s too fast, notes would need to be skipped or the speed would need to be clamped. also depends on the pattern’s tempo multiplier.

e.g. when pattern speed is 2x, arpeggios with a speed value of up to 3 could be accurately baked.
at pattern speed 1/8, max bakeable arp speed would be 48.

yea - I thought about the same limitations which might be hard to overcome.

It would be a cool feature though (even with the limits you have stated).
I’d love to be able to cut/paste different sections and snippets of arp goodness on a midi/note level rather than on an audio level.

it would basically just be a button.
you press it and if the arp is active on the selected track, it bakes it & turns the arp OFF.

so yeah:

Bonus: can bake Standard MIDI files. MIDI file export does ignore arpeggios though, so you first need to bake all arps, then export the MIDI.

I don’t have an older Mac to test on, you need OSX 10.9 to run this.

Arp baking may have inaccurate results when using microtimed trigs.
It does support p-locks, sound locks and trigless trigs.
It does not work with the PLY arp mode.

When you press the button, the arp in the currently selected track is baked.

Be aware of the speed limitations as mentioned above… it will not modify your pattern if the arp is too fast.
There may be other bugs of course.
Save your project before using this.

there needs to be a direct USB connection to your A4… should also work with AK.
the app does not indicate whether the connection is okay, but it should be plug & play. make sure you’re using the latest A4 OS.
