Bad encoder

Someone else has been posting about encoder D too, my turn now…

My encoder D is degrading rapidly after just 1 week of moderate use. It has way more resistance than any of the others (tighter), and makes a gentle swishing/scraping sound as it is turned. The other encoders aren’t completely silent but the difference is instantly noticeable. To the point that I’ve put it back in its box and don’t even want to use it.

Im sure it will get sorted out through support (already contacted them) but that means I’ll be without it for a period after using it for just a week. Bit of a passion killer :frowning:

Not even sure why I’m posting, I guess Im just annoyed

Can you not get a replacement from the place you bought it?, a week is within most companies return window.

Sure, Im hoping for a replacement. It should be fine, it’s the wasted time that’s annoying.

I am wondering about the quality of these newer encoders though. Had OT & A4 mk1 for years with no encoder issues. Digitakt for 1 week, and since last night, the encoder F feels tighter to turn too.
