This is my current go-to, carry it everywhere basically for some years now. It’s sturdy, has plenty of room, looks good and has reasonable security (although no truly hidden pockets). It hasn’t let me down yet.

The only negative is that it’s not waterproof (there is a liner in the bottom of the main section that helps keep the inside dry). Could be fixed with some nasty chemical spray I guess.

that one is massive, you must carry a ton of gear!
doesn’t look too gigantic on tall people though, but I’m in under 6ft still dunk territory

Yes tall / yes lots of gear when travelling. It’s been able to handle everything. Qualifies as “carry on” luggage too, which is important.

But the brand is really what I was recommending - just quality throughout.

Well the journey has come to an end at least until after Christmas , what I needed most in a bag was the combination of being lightweight, quality build, good organization (but streamlined so as not to over do it), to be unassuming and the antithesis of loud, as well as a versatility in the way the bag could be carried with a must that when on my back that it shifted around as little as possible while still being comfortable to wear, especially the strap area:sweat_smile:

And most importantly that it only fit what I need to carry which is a 14” puter, digitakt, headphones, and power bank/ and not encourage me to carry more, but rather force me to commit to another set up if I want to go with an Mpc, deluge, Polyend tracker, model series etc…

Also found out that the symmetry of backpacks with outside water bottle holsters are cumbersomely off putting for me personally and that bags with inside water bottle holsters are perfect for holding power banks like the 65 watt baesus, while maintaining balance.

So I ended up with the Tom bihn synapse 19, the Aer slim pack, and the Day Owl Day Pack… all three blend in extremely well no matter the environment and the aer slim pack and day owl day pack are so minimal in their design that you’d feel awkward if you were looking at them for too long, while the synapse 19 just looks like you are in your way to or from school… all of these are back packs and none of them say ‘please go shopping in my bag for your next beat machine’…

I was peeved at day owl for taking an extra long time to send my bag because of some shipping mishap but they gave me a very nice discount that I couldn’t refuse … so I didn’t.

I also really liked the Goruck GR-1, and a crossbody backpack by nutsack but they weren’t close to being as minimal and apparently a lot of people use truck for personal carry of fire arms so they garner a lot of attention, which I want no part of.

Most of the producer/ dj /tech bags were too flashy and heavy even without gear in them for my taste, and the three bags I got offered enough protection, mobility, and fit my deck savers too.

I’m amazed at everybody lugging around 25 and 30 liter bags full of gear as everyday carry bags, I’m trying to save my back and avoid those doctor bills😁

this is a killer bag!

works very well for bigger setups, easy to fit laptop, RME audio interface, 2x elektrons, small mixer or small modular and still fit into hand luggage.

I don’t think it will fit. The inner compartment is 40cm x 24cm x 14cm.

OT + 2 Digis, no problem. I do this all the time, with PL-2/PL-2s and a tote back to avoid stressing the rubber feet.
I can put an additional effect on top, usually, I don’t have a UC4 but from what I can see I would say it fits.
And there is room for cables and PSUs, no problem.

I definitely recommend this bag. Especially for 35€.

Great, seems like a good candidate at an unbeatable price. I also have decksavers on my Elektrons so they would be very well protected.

I must say that I looked into Magma Backpacks and there are a lot of interesting options that would probably work great and would last longer (I also like that seem more customizable inside), they seem well priced for what they offer… but I might pull the trigger on one of these Thomann bags and look into something better later on, provided that I start performing more often

If you don’t, the rubber feet are sliding against the fabric, but due to both nature there is friction and you end removing the rubber feet.
If you use tote bags, it’s way easier to introduce + remove, and you don’t have such friction.
