Automapping MIDI controllers (for Arturia V Collection)

That’s actually a good point. I should have mentioned I am less of a sound designer (unless it’s sample mangling) When it comes to synths, I’m more likely to edit things like the basic preset patch (hence why I enjoy KK in principle) and then I will typically take that lightly modded preset and run automation and automated effects on it via Ableton automation lanes. I guess the key criteria is ease of skipping around. The one thing the LK has going for it is that there is no problem to (for example) skip between devices in the rack with the blue hand, which most of the budget controllers don’t do. But if I can move up and down to select tracks with a jogwheel setup in Arrangement View, then that would be a useful addition as this is something I don’t have. To my earlier point about presets I’m currently looking at switching from Pigments which I sold to their preset collection for a greatest hits of Arturia sounds, including selected Pigments patches.

This looks pretty handy, do we think? Too late for me to switch, but this was long overdue an update…

Interested to hear, how is this panning out for you? Minilab all the way? Back to the M32? I’m currently looking at a 2 controller setup (grid & keys) and think a small controller alongside the keys might be good. Which of these stood the test of time?! :crystal_ball: :crystal_ball: :crystal_ball:

lol I still have both and use neither :joy: just rocking the laptop on the knees. But I would 100% keep the Arturia over the NI as it turns out I never use NI stuff, and the NI is basically useless outside of that

Haha! Oops. Worth an ask. Yeah I have heard a lot of very nice things about the keybed on both. I still use the NI gear but also watching the release of the S-series, I’d be minded not to invest in their hardware even if I keep using the software. Arturia seem to have done a great job with the Minilab, my only wish is that they would do an Akai and release a 32/37 key version for a tad more flexibility.
