Audio Note In Function

Hello Octatrack users,

thanks for this nice new platform here!

I v got the following question / problem with my octatrack (lastest OS installed):

I want to trigger each Audio track with an external midi Keyboard.
So I switched on: Midi - Control - Audio Note In (X) ON -

Now i can play each selected track chromaticly via the midi keayboard.
BUT:

when I hit the H2 / B2 Key on my keyboard the Octatrack gets a midi command to START.

Can I switch this function off while still keeping my midi keyboard to trigger my 8 audio tracks?

would be great. Hope you understand my problem.

And also: is there a chance to play a audiotrack polyphonic?

greetings from berlin!

What’s an h2 / b2 key? If its sending transport message, you can turn that off in the OT midi menu under control. Uncheck “receive” under “TRANSP” in the sync menu under project settings.

as for the second question, each audio track is monophonic so no poly.

hope that helps,
Ama

Hey, thank you for the quick reply.

b2 key on the keyboard - means the note b on the second octave of my synth (Alpha Juno1) -
this key sends a start signal when i press it…
Some lower keys send some mute signals to the OT.
I can only turn this off when turning off - control - audio note in -
but than i cannot trigger the tracks anymore via the keyboard…

My aim is to use the Alpha Juno (or any other Midi Keyboard) to trigger each Audio track - lets say to record hihats, kick, snare, and to play some chord samples on the keyboard - transposing it up and down and recording it while the octatrack still runs…
and as well using the Alpha Juno as a synthesizer behind the Octatrack, sequenced by the eight midi tracks…this allready works fine for me but the only thing is to get the samples played without sending some unwanted CC signals like mute, start stop ect.

ok…a pitty you cannot play polyphonic on each audio track - would be too nice…

I ran into this too… If I remember right, b2 would be a little too low. According to the specs in the back of the manual, the two octaves that you can use to trigger the sample chromatically occur higher on the keyboard. I don’t have my OT in front of me. Try up an octave or two if you haven’t already.
