Great, thank you. Yes, I think I will just go for the MOTU. After already investing in the MBP I guess 100 bucks more or less do not really make such a big difference.
The M2 works just fine with Win10/11, at least.
Thanks for your contribution. No intention using it with Windows here, so I should be fine,.
if you’re setteled on these two check Julian Krause reviews for both, his reviews are very informative and can help decide
Awesome, thanks!
Julian’s reviews were very helpful.
I have ordered now a B-stock M4. B-stock because the original box is a bit damaged, so what. It was just 30 bucks more than the M2 and I can afford 2 more cm on my table.
Case solved, thanks to everyone who has helped.
Do you already have a Digitakt, Digitone or similar? They make great audio interfaces, 2-in 2-out.
Yes, both. But they are part of my studio and I want to keep them there. Also having a Syntakt but honestly not sure if I will keep it since it is either too much or just not suitable for my intentions.
I remember trying the mk3 on Mac a while back, but the drivers didn’t work with new operating systems…has that been fixed? Because if it has, a used mk3 is still an amazing deal.
@SonWu from what I gather, I believe drivers for this particular hardware have not been updated past OS X on Mac.

Shame as this unit was rock solid under 10.12 until High Sierra.
I had mine from 2017 until this year 2023 as I sold most of my synth/gear etc… to fund modular.
Never had a single issue, freeze or anything going wrong with this interface.
Have not been talking to the people at MOTU but it would be worth trying to find out if there is a way to use it under the latest OS.
Can’t speak for Windows.
I have to give an update on my motu UL Mk5:
Only recently i had trouble with the driver. Often times when i turn the interface there’s a problem with sort of a bitcrushing sound. I also found some other persons experncing this issue with this interface. I also sent it for repair. But as far as i’m concerned motu has not been able to fix this issue and i’m still dealing with it… After turning the interface and the computer on and off multiple time the issue disappears (in my case). Then the interface works perfectly… however if i had to decide again i’d probably safe an extra 500 bucks to get a rme…
I hope the issue will be fixed with future driver updates.
