I just puled the trigger on a A4 and am waiting for it to arrive. I will be hooking up a Op-1 and a Future Retro Xs to the A4. I’m curious how the Audio inputs are handled in the signal chain.

Will they steal a track?

I read the manual a little but could not pull the understanding out.

If you plug your other hardware straight into the A4 and go to the FX page, there are volumes for the inputs and if you use only these they do not take up any of the A4’s tracks. You can even use the digital FX when routed through the FX page. Also at the OSC page for a track, you can use the external ins as a sound source, that will then run through the filers, overdrive and amp. These will use that track but it’s only if you want to process it through the A4’s analog hardware. Otherwise the FX page is fine.

Nope, they are separate from the 4 tracks and the CV Track and have individual chorus, delay, reverb pan and volume controls for each of the inputs.

Great news, thanks for the knowledge, sounds like you get the versatility you should
