Audio Edit Menu Confusion

Hi -

Occasionally I lose the ability to Crop in the Audio Edit menu and am only presented the Calc BPM option set. Reloading project doesn’t help. Reboot gets it back.

Is this an inadvertent byproduct of my workflow of sampling from inputs CD into Pickup Machine on Trk1 then trimming and saving to card. Then load newly created sample into a Flex track and work with it from there. It is at this point that the Audio Edit menu occasionally switches up on me and forces the reboot.

Any idea what might be going on here? Thank you.

PS - I’ve tried clearing slot, reloading sample from card, changing machine type then back… didn’t work.

Could you detail each step in order to reproduce it?
OS, MKI, MKII?

Maybe its due to not enough memory left. When you reboot the OT the record buffers gets cleared and their used memory freed up again.

Thanks for the replies!

I am running MKII with the latest firmware.

Not entirely sure this is the cause and I will try to capture the exact steps, but it seems I catch it when I’ve created a Flex track then turned it into a Static track, then back again.

Just to follow up here:

I’ve been so busy productively making music with OT that I haven’t wanted to take the time to troubleshoot / reproduce steps. I have, however, run into the issue a few more times while making said music, and rebooting clears things up every time so that’s my workaround for now.

Thank you to those that replied. Happy music making

Have you run test mode?
It runs a self testing of OT hardware.

You hold function while powering up OT to enter the early startup menu and then press the first trig button.
