This question was troubling me for a long time and hope there is a solution for it.
I use Digitakt as master and control Digitone through midi. Arturia Keystep goes in to DT and I can use it on both devices. But of course I’m missing mod wheel and keyboard features of DN. I’d like to use Keystep with DN directly but its midi in is being used by Digitakt.
So my first question is that is there any way to use another midi controller with DN? I don’t know much about midi splitters and other tools, so any help would be great.
If it’s not possible, how can I expand this setup with a pad controller. I’d like to get a Beatstep or similar pad controller to expand this setup. But I couldn’t find any information about if it’s possible to connect Beatstep to Keystep. Since they’re both from Arturia, maybe it’s possible to connect both and send all midi signals to DT (and then DN obviously).
Sorry if this one has been already asked but I haven’t been able to see any solution so far. Any help will be much appreciated!
I’m trying to figure out something similar at the moment.
In my case wanting to control a Monomachine with the Digitakt sequencer and use the Keystep to play both.
What I’ve done is turn on Midi Thru on the Keystep with the Midi Control Center. That seems to basically be midi merge, so the Midi In is routed to Midi Out along with the Midi from the Keystep itself.
I’ve then got the Digitakt Midi Out going into the Keystep then out into the Monomachine and the Monomachine Midi Thru back into the Digitakt Midi In. The Elektron boxes need to be set to receive midi on different channels.
Seems to work, but I’ve just set it up and not had much time to test it properly. Hope that helps.

By the way integrating a pad controller to this setup would have been a great (missing piece of DT). I’d like to hear if you had any experience with it.

Hi, I have a KeyLab mk II + Beatstep pro + Digitakt:
I want my beatstep to play seven of the tracks on the digitak, a sequence.
I want my Keylab play the 8th track with a more chromatic sample so I can use the keys.
It would be MIDI signals from BSP and from Keylab to DIgitakt, bur Digitakt has one MIDI IN, I can plug each one and it works but I want both of them triggering MIDI to the Digitakt. Its possible to do that pluging MIDI out from BSP to MIDI IN from Keylab and then MIDI OUT from Keylab to MIDI IN in digitakt?, Do I need a Merge box?.. please somebody can help?
