Most of my sessions need to be treated like I’m singing in the shower. Sounds great to me, feels good in the moment - but highly inappropriate to share with others
It’s a proper lullaby very loosely based on Bach’s first prelude / Gounod’s Ave Maria. Probably the quickest track I ever put together, 30 minutes of noodling in bed with the OP1 and that was it. That is to say: you never know what will move your audience ![]()
Sweet tune, but you just missed the greatest opportunity to rick-roll somebody.
My dog (I think… he doesn’t walk out, at least).
My cat (in her sleep though).
Me.
My kids, but only to tell me to turn the volume down. Side point but I find it unfathomably hilarious now that I’m old and my kids are all adults that I’m the one shaking the walls and they’re ones telling me to STFU.
My wife, but only if the term “listening” could be extended to “hearing through wall while doing something else and not complaining very often”.
Er… that’s it. I did think about doing the whole Spotify/YT thing but it seems such an evil shark-infested bottomless dark pit that I don’t see the point. Zero actual money made, a lot of hassle, ever-present risk that some evil troll will steal everything and hit me with bullshit algorithmic copyright strikes. Nope. Life too short.
I might one day find the courage to do an electronic music open mic thing locally but meantime this is just for me, and even with serious GAS it’s a shit ton cheaper than therapy. Makes me very happy, so all good.
I have played live a LOT in a previous life (masses of cover bands and original bands in my 20s, about 300 gigs a year, international tours, session work, all of that) and loved it, but then job kids life happened. Meantime the music industry I remembered (and loved) from the late 70s to early 90s basically died on its arse anyway.
Awww thanks for the shout my friend!!!
