Architecture Question on A4 MK1

Hej,
probably a simply one:
Q1:
I got an A4 MK1 recently and I am wondering if there is a way inside a bank to change the basic Sound in one pattern without affecting the same sound in another patteren of the same bank (indeed without using parameter locks)?
I didn´t got the paper OG Manuals at hand in the package. If there is a reference to my Q in the PDF manuals pls hand me the page(s).
Q2:
Can I use the new Outbox8 like really DAW-less and configure it from either the A4 MK1 (Latest OS) or Digitakt 1 (Latest OS) without a Computer or Overbridge?

Q2
if you look on the main outbox8 page youll see the compatibility of analog four mk1 and digitakt mk1 in a big obvious compatibility table .

https://www.elektron.se/explore/outbox-8

they both do multi track audio (theyre maked in the multi track column )
analog four needs the webapp to configure it (its marked in the web app column)
digitakt 1 can be configured in device… (its marked in the in-device column)

Q1 - Yes, you need to use kits to do this, any pattern can use any kit, I hope that answers your question! I actually think the A4 has the best kits system and I wish the new digi boxes handled kits the same way

Q1: A4 uses kits, which are a collection of all the sounds across all the tracks, search the PDF and read about kits. You can load any kit to any pattern, and so you can can save a kit to another slot, make whatever modifications you want to a sound, and then assign that to any pattern.

A4 architecture is quite different compared to the later devices, and has quirks. To get a full grasp you probably just need to read everything in the manual related to the architecture. If you don’t, you’re going to end up not saving something that needs to be saved and losing your work.

Hej, THX for your response. I expected that… in some way. As coming from Digitakt 1 and Digitone Keys it´s a different architecture/structure on the A4 with having the kits in place. The manuals are not considering that case like building a completely new sound in a running/open Pattern/Performance with overwriting the Track Sound selected once upon a time.
So, when working with the Kits, I at least need a brickstone at hand as well - for holding down the steps while my other hands are tweaking the parameters.
One or the other… the user needs to die…
Anyhow: I love the machine.
Peace René

Don’t forget you can also use sound-locks to use any sound from the sound pool on any trig.
