AR under Logic - best way to use in Logic

Could anybody tell me the best way to record my AR in single tracks under Logic Pro X?

I am not very experienced under Logic therefore a description would be very nice.

Someone posted a Logic template for AR on here a while back. Cant remember which thread it was in though…

The rytm must be in overbridge mode. Then in logics audio interface selector, choose rytm core audio.

Then, in logic i created 8 mono audio tracks. I named all the tracks according to Rytm nomenclature.

  • RYTM MAINS are input 1&2
  • BD is Input 3
  • SD is input 4
  • RS/CP is input 5
  • BT is input 6
  • LT is input 7
  • MT/HT is input 8
  • CH/OH is input 9
  • CY/CB is input 10
  • I forget what Inputs 11 and 12 are…

Do you use multiple audio interfaces or do you only want to use the rytm via overbridge in logic? If multiple, the first thing is you will have to do is make an aggregate device in the audio midi Setup app. If your other interfaces are before the rytm in the aggregate list, then the input numbers change as a function of all the inputs for all interfaces…

Hope that helps.

Just open audio/midi setup app in Mac.

On the audio page you’ll see what tracks your AR is using. Just enable those in Logic.

Thank you for the hint with the aggregate, I tried that out in the past but doesn’t understood this right that time.
This time I could bring it to work, the first track in Logic that I create recorded the Snare Drum well.
I add now the other AR tracks into Logic.
Thank you for the great help, I appreciate that!

Another question in general:
I have two ways to connect the AR to the Audio Interface, first is with single outs or the main outs to the Mackie mixer and the second is via OB into the DAW.
What do you think is the better way in case of sound quality and analog sound, single outs or Overbridge?

Thanks,
until this recently OB update I used my AR and A4 without OB.
Is OB a stable solution in these days?
