AR scene automation while using Overbridge

Hi, is it possible to automate scenes in a DAW while using Overbridge?

I know while using just Midi CC Value 92 is used sending out value 1 to 12.
This is also what the Rytm also sends out on channel 8 when pressing on the Scene buttons.
However Sending these values back to the Rytm in Overbridge mode doesnt change anything.

Is there a workaround to make this work?

The Performace buttons do work great as expected.

Im doing it from FL20 just fine.

But thats as easy as finding the parameter in the OB vst and choosing edit, i can then easily make edits to the scene and performances…

But i guess it depends on which DAW you are using???

Hi Adam, thanks for your feedback.
That part also works in Ableton.
I know it is possible to alter a scene in OB.

What I want to do is change the scene order automated from the Timeline.
I want to variate between scenes.
For example.
Draw out and select the first 4 bars for scene 6 and the next 4 bars for scene 8.
There is no way of selecting or recording the Scenes changes while making a song using OB.

I encountered this issue and found the following workaround: You can create a separate track and use Ableton’s external instrument to send MIDI to your Overbridge plugin. That, for some reason, let’s me change the scenes through MIDI CC 92, whereas they won’t change if I send the changes on the same track that hosts the Overbridge plugin.

Can anyone help me get scene automation to work with Overbridge (I’m running 2.18.5)?
I tried to send CC92 from a midi track that does nothing else to the Overbridge plugin. At first I tried channel 15, because my Rytm’s performance channel is set to midi channel 15. I also tried the auto channel and every other one.

I also tried it on the midi track that hosts the OB plugin, but no luck either. Aldo can’t get OB to automate performance macros, but strangely enough, OB does record performance macros as live automation when I’m pressing on the pads, but does not record scenes.

I can send CCs to the Rytm via Din midi and USB midi, but it’s mentioned in the manual to not do that in OB mode. Not sure what problems that might cause (it even says to not take audio from the jacks, whatever that means exactly - I mean, shouldn’t we record or monitor it alongside Overbridge or shouldn’t we even be plugged into the audio interface? The audio is coming out of the analog outputs regardless), but I’d hope to find a solution that does not involve midi.

This is actually the first time I’m using Overbridge to record something. I’ve played around with it multiple times, but never really used it. Overbridge is so damn awesome btw. I’m kinda excited lol^^

Edit, seems like scenes aren’t exposed to the daw as automation and they don’t even do anything in the OB plugin.
Clicking on scenes in OB doesn’t activate them. I can edit them and perf macros work like they should, but scenes seem broken.
