Hi, I’m trying to record individual sounds into ableton. When I use the corresponding channel to record in, the sound is weak and terrible. However, when using the main stereo input, the sound is how it should be. At first I thought it was bypassing the FX, compressor etc. But I have checked the FX send on the audio routing setting and all tracks are sending to FX? What am I missing?

Fx are only recorded to the main as they are send fx,
The individual tracks won’t have fx,
you can switch off the individual tracks going to the main in audio routing and record the main with just fx
Thanks Dan I thought that would be the case I just saw the FX send in the manual and thought maybe it was possible to route the channels through the FX. No problem thanks for replying
It all boils down to the fact that there is only one FX instance which processes an audio sum of all channel sends. To get FX per channel each channel would require its own FX instance.
