Hi to you all! here’s Sonic from Italy, I’m writing because I downloaded the new OS 1.22 for AR, but once I opened the .zip, I found only a .syx file for Windows.
In the folder there’s no .dmg file for mac…
You have to Download C6 sysex manager from the Elektron Website, import this Sysex file into the C6, adjust MIDI input/output to USB (if your Rytm is plugged to your computer with USB), put the AR in “OS Upgrade” mode (in the Global Menu.
Once it is done, click on “send” in C6. The Analog Rytm will receive the new OS. It will take about 5 minutes.
To Pats: it is always better to de-install previous version to make sure the new one will be installed in good conditions. It also depends on your computer: to me, it is compulsory on a PC, not always on a Mac.
I think you should upgrade both Overbridge and AR OS, to make sure menu and AR features fit properly.
it is always good to make a ‘fresh’ installation of software but that doesn’t always mean things won’t work properly if you don’t uninstall the previous version
downgrading is not a ‘good option’…the manual states: ‘Downgrading is generally not recommended as user data may be lost and SysEx backups may not be compatible.’
the noise you hear when you plug the USB cable could depend from different factors…from grounding issues to devices’ issues; most of the times it’s ground related though
thanK you guys, I upgraded both OS and Ob, the noise is away for now ( I think someone else here in this forum had similar issue with a noise after upgrading and turning on the AR )
