Is it me or something changed with the way sample start is handled in 1.70 on MKI units ?
I’m just coming back to my AR MKI after quite some time so I might be wrong, but it seems that something has changed that annoys me with sample chains.
In a nutshell, it seems like the Start param on the sample section has a finer resolution than before. It can seem like an nice addition, but I’ve got a problem with sample chains, where samples start precisely on an integer value of the parameter. Since MKI screens do not display the float part of the number, it’s impossible to be sure that the knob is snapped to an integer value. The only way is to get back to zero, then retrieve the same value when pushing + turning the knob (it then sticks to +1 increments).
Am I tripping ?
Is there a setting for this ?
Am I alone to be annoyed ?
You’re not alone, this is bad, on latest firmwares elektron payed very little attention to MK1 - maybe in Sweden they sold all the mk1s?
and even after some feedback, one year has passed and no legacy option (yet!!)
Please write to Elektron, I think they are working on it and they might be able to help you.
edit: until you get a response, try using [FUNCTION]+Knob to snap to integer values. This is quite difficult, the encoder speed will be VERY sensitive.
Ah, glad to know I’m not crazy !
I’ll definitely drop them a message. And thanks for the advice !
And the new OS fixes it!
Looks like they addressed this in the latest update.
Woah I didn’t expect this ! Thanks Elektron !
So can anyone confirm there is a fine control for sample start / sample end AND tuning as well on Rytm MK1 now?
