hi, i have just realize that i can control the analog rytm with lemur for ipad without midi interface, just with the camera connection kit lemur can see the AR as a midi in out interface, i d like to create a template to control few parameter on the Ar, for the moment i can do it but
i d like to control some parameter of the monomachine by the same template, so i plugged the ipad to the AR midi in and the monomachine to the AR midi thru but monomachine don t seem to hear anything, does someone has a tip for do it or am i dreaming?
Have you read Appendix B of the MM manual?
yes, i found each cc number needed, i think the AR can t pass midi from usb to midi din thru. am i wrong?
Yeah, DIN Thru for DIN In only !

You can use iRig MIDI instead of the camera connection kit. Works fine with Lemur.
never tried it, but i think lemur can address multiple midi devices, so you could use the cck and a usb hub, but you’d need a usb>din device for monomachine (assuming it is not usb class compliant) or if you had an A4 just another usb lead (powered usb hub btw, again not tested)
thanks for the help, si i need a midi interface. any advice on an interface that can powering the ipad when it s plugged?
i like the sound of the i4+, bit pricey as a casual purchase, the irig mentioned above allows a powering connection, at least for older devices, if you’re after a basic (battery only) 30pin one, the line6 midimobilizer2 is about 10euro, handy for old devices(os) that don’t play with cck
i think i ll go for the iconnectivity, do you think i ll be able to route audio to my zoom h1 via usb?
i’m guessing you have one Baddcr, guessing the 4, i read that some supposed and popular usb class compliant devices do not work on the host port (which you’re inferring is midi only above) - so how do you find it ease of use wise and standalone, is it easy to tell what patching is happening or is that down to you to remember about merging and through and routing - i think i dismissed them as a bit of a nkotb prematurely
so theoretically, if you had lemur via cck, that ties up a ‘square’ usb port, so connecting a RYTM via usb requires the host port, or is the host port only for controllers (nano pad etc)
no big deal as it’s outta reach, but curious for putting it on the radar or not !
if you could try for me that s would be nice thanks!
i’ll check out the forums if the price drops a bit, as it stands i think i can get by when i need to with the raspberry pi as a usb class compliant midi hub where controller x can connect to device y & z e.g (particularly with the new pi which has more usb ports) - pi may not be ideal, haven’t thought hard about latency, but it didn’t seem an issue, good thing is it’s flexible, cheap and small - i have little interest in iPad as an audio source, so i won’t miss that aspect, i just can’t engage with it on that level - anyway, cheers for fbk
yeah, the midibud would be a good thing to have around, i’d had that bookmarked, my arduino will get pushed into a cv project soon i hope, diy is always the best way in my books, thus pi and lemur, but it all takes time and UI tinkering on things like Lemur are a rabbit hole, especially since they introduced canvas, a million things half finished
i’m sure it’ll be ok w midi ports, it was whether the usb side could be harnessed and reserved for control, thus leaving the DIN for sync so thrus can be used between boxes, i think(hope) a powered hub will work in both cases, whether cck or 4+, interesting to hear 'bout it anyway
i m back to you for help! i try to make a lemur template for the AR
i have mapped each parameters of the AR on my template, some works, other no, maybe i have made wrong assiniation,
but my question is how to have bidirectional cc send?
Shouldn’t be a problem, but you’ll need to program it carefully to prevent loops potentially, best bet if you’re struggling is to head over to the liine forum or look for similar templates
nice every things is allright all the midi implementation of the rytm is on my template and works fine!
now i d like to know if it s possible to:
have the rytm sending all the pot position at the startup of lemur, do you know if it s possible?
Not presently unfortunately, send a snapshot or preset From Lemur to get sync, not ideal, but best for now !
ok so my template is nearly finished!
anyone interested in that template when finished?
for the moment i have a container with a tab for each track and all parameters of the track available on each tab
i just began an other page for a general mixer, with volume, pan, mute, solo, delay and reverb send of each track on one page
