just picked up an apogee one os and have shifted to total iPad recording and the convertors certainly and really have a wow factor
really impressive : rich and almost detailed warm
certainly improved the sound of the MDUW and mono
kicking myself for not investing $300 in an apogee device earlier 
now I am off to sell my steinberg ur - no slouch but its game over!!
if you want to improve the MDUW “sound” just pick an apogee sound card
