I just finnished building an Anushri and let me say, it sounds f’n realy awsome ! Amazing mm filter, I’m impressed.
Anyway, just thought I’d bump this thread and add that I would be more than happy to build allmost any DIY kit for anyone preferably in Australia.
This is my 10th kit now with 100% results (I have a background in electronics).

Ok, I’m probably going to get blasted for this but is this the poor man’s machine drum? I mean it seems VERy versatile and, from what I’ve heard, would give a MD or a nord drum a serious competitor? Does it fall short in some way?

Yeah I would say its a striped down version of an MD , with 16bit 44.1khz audio.

Nice!!! Is that ur handiwork? I especially like the engraved wood sides. Then again, a used MD must be cheaper than that pimpness;-)

Look up to my first post about sample loading.

There are a lot of similarities with the MD. There’s parameter locking, morphing, extensive modulation and a performance mode.

Sonically it sounds more Hi-FI and punchy than an MD and easier to get a good sound in IMO. It only has 7 tracks and they are engine specific not freely assigned. It can’t sample so it’s closer to a Non-UW but with limited sample playback and on-board transient samples in addition to the main OSC. The distortion and SRR are really good too.

Unlike the MD it does allow you to turn off quantize and has micro-timing per step. Independent track lengths but only 16 steps per pattern. You can’t play the triggers. Step write only but you can program from external MIDI with velocity.

Those are pretty big bummers. Seems like the LXR gets updated a lot, you’d think 64 step patterns and live programming from triggers would be way at the top. I wonder if there is something technically holding back these features.

To the OP:
look what you’ve done. I was happily unaware of the LXR and you just triggered my GAS for it. Now I will have to find a place somewhere to sneak it in my recently developed eurocrack SDIY habit…

To tsv: last night I scooped through the manual and this beast should have 8 substeps for each step, so this counts up to 128 steps, no less.
On the paper there are some über cool features and the developer seems pretty agile and responsive to user requests.
Add to this the CV expansion with 6 trigger outs an (!!!) Cv trigger in (!!!) and this machine to me has quite a bad ass of potential.
Yup, I’m afraid I am done.

Yes you are correct there are 8 sub steps per step for micro-timing, stutters and rolls.

I was referring to 16 steps in terms of numbers of pages Vs the MD’s 64.

Just always good to know more peeps handy with a soldering iron… I’ve got the Swamp, Marsh and Bog from here to build / be built one day (but I ain’t doing it…)

Also got a delicate desolder/resolder to be done on a synth… just remove/replace a dead chip.

They are! I know a few peeps who have built them already.

Basically a Serge replica/clone, giving you oscillators (Bog), modulators (Marsh) and asequencer (Swamp)

Be awesome to have in one case, especially now that I’ve vacated Euro land…
