Anyone using a Push 2 AND a Launchpad together

I bought a Push 2 to use alongside my Octatrack and Ableton 11. It replaced a Launchpad, which I planned to sell, but I may end up keeping it.

The Push is fantastic, and pairs really well with the Octatrack. But I don’t like how the Push’s note mode (its melodic keyboard grid) always follows the selected track.

If I’m using it to play chromatic notes in on the Octatrack, for example, I can’t switch tracks in Ableton, or the MIDI control to the Octatrack may stop.

The Launchpad adds another controller, and it also lets me use its MIDI mode to lock it to a MIDI channel.

Anyone else using both? If so, how?

I’m intrigued by this concept. I have both a Push 2 and a Launchpad Pro Mk 3. I’ve always considered them either/or but there’s no reason that should be the case, of course.

I’m finding it’s nice to have a dedicated controller for playing notes etc, while using the Push for something else. Or to launch a clip recording while using the Push’s keys.

More relevant for Elektronauts is that the LP is much more flexible for controlling hardware. Say I had a Digitone and Digitakt hooked up too. I could use the LP in MIDI mode to control either, switching between their autochannels on the LP itself.

I have to confess, I’m in dire need of spending more time with the LP in MIDI mode. I want to use it as the centrepiece of a non-Ableton setup, but I’ve not spent much time doing it because I’m more used to using the LP with Atom 2 on iOS so it’s easier to go with that. It defeats the object, though, so that’s got to change.
