Anyone In Melbourne with Rytm?

I already have an Octatrack and am seriously thinking of getting a Rytm.

But I can’t spend that amount of cash without actually having a go with one in real non-youtube life.
And at this point I don’t know any shops that have one on demo.

If there is someone in Melbourne with a Rytm I would be happy to pay (either in cash, beers, homecooked food…whatever) if i could come around and have a little go on their machine.
I could even bring my octatrack and a synth for a little jam.

Just chucking it out there!

cheers

Hey man, I’ve been in the same boat! StoreDJ on Victoria St, Richmond have an Analog Rytm on demo last time I went. I went in late October last year and had a decent long go before putting buying one.

If StoreDJ don’t have a demo maybe try Audio Chocolate in South Yarra as they are the Australian distributer for Elektron.

Getting a decent test of the unit definitely sold it for me!

Hey Loui

Thanks, for some reason I convinced myself that Store Dj didn’t have on on the demo shelf… but your right they do …

Went and had a session for about 45min today… wow …
Totally sold.

Sounds awesome. Feel nice to play (pads could be bigger but mah)
Functionally and graphics seem to be decently improved (compared to the Octatrack)

Hearing it in the real life made me realize how weird and dirty as well and full and punchy it can sound.

Extactly what I’m after .
Just gotta save a few more pennies

Awesome man, great to hear! You won’t regret buying one  That’s the exact feeling I got regarding the punchiness and fullness of the rytm’s sound. so fat and immense!

If you are ever looking to have talk elektron/music/gear or potentially have a jam hit me up on facebook. My add is the same as my elektron username. I don’t know of many people using elektron gear in melbourne or get what i mean when i try and explain what these machines are all about

Or what you are doing.
I’m more sound design.
:rage:

Hahah yeah i feel that! Are you in melbourne too JC?

Another Melbourne rytm user here. Really happy with it after trying out most drum machines out there and the new engines have taken it to another level.

Yeah the new machines and new trig conditions really take the rytm to a new level… amazing machine.
Id love to get something together amongst melbourne elektron users…

Loui !

I only just saw your above post about having a little Melbourne Elektron meetup, really great Idea bro. Im Keen.
Although I havn’t been able to afford to get a Rytm yet… halfway there…

I have a couple of the venues that may be keen to let us use their space and sound systems on a weeknight.
A couple of places in Collingwood and maybe Brunswick that could suit.
Ideally it would be great to have a nice large sound desk with plenty of inputs, some decent speakers
and a global clock source + large midi interface with a few outputs so we could sync a few machines at once.

Yeah man im down! Have you got facebook to chat on? My facebook add is loui richie so if you are able to talk about it in keen. We could start a thread on elektronauts to put the word out a bit more. Yeah be sick doing some live sets and a live jam

I’m over in Melbourne in December until Januaury - this sounds sick if you guys are still meeting up then, would love to get meet up with some fellow Rytm users whilst over.

yeah man, even if nothing eventuates on a club night or event night i’m always open to jamming or hanging out and exchanging ideas etc.

Just got one and loving it, Melbourne based!

Another Melbourne Rytm/Elektron owner here.
+1 for some kind of Gathering. Can supply small sound system.

footnote hint to hq: wouldn’t it be something to have the Elektron crew visit somewhere in Australia for a “night of Machines”

yo i’m in melbourne! sounds cool! i have rytm and a4…

lets jam 7 rytms into overbridge

awesome! i got the keys, rytm and octatrack… big 20 ch mixer too which could get some nice stuff going

That would be so awesome! get Cenk over! there seems to be a lot of elektron users on Melbourne Gear Nuts trade group on facebook… might be worth posting there too.

Agreed - A Melbourne night of the machines type event would be of the chain.
Maybe in the future it will be possible who knows…

Glad to hear there’s a bit of interest in this meetup group !

I have been a bit busy(/sick) in the last few days so haven’t had a chance to contact any possible venues, however I will get onto tomorrow night  and let you all know how I get on.
