For a really slimmed-down live set, I want to be able to use my Nord Lead 3 for both MIDI note sequenced arpeggios from Ableton, but also be able to manually play pads and leads etc.
Normally, I could just mute the arp track on Ableton, but I’ve run out of tracks on my APC40.
So - a physical kill switch would do the job. Anyone come across something like that? Ta!
From what you’re saying I’d say your kill switch is in Ableton. Maybe map a MIDI controller to the arp track mute if you want a physical button to mute it?
You’re probably right - thanks. Just need to work out which button on which device. Something I don’t use much on the APC I guess.
Doh! Don’t know how/why I missed this option with the NL3 - just set up 2 parts and mute one either on the mixer or with the volume dial. Doesn’t matter if it’s playing in the background then, if it’s muted.
Means a sequence can be running on part 2 and I can play other stuff on part 1.
So used to using it in mono-timbral mode!
