first off, would like to state im mostly oblivious to anything eurorack.
(i tend to at least try and make mental note of the more popular ones being thrown around)
but also watch videos here and there, intrigued? yes, just never really made the step.
with that said, i find myself often buying drum kits/sample packs (mostly/if not all drums), as i currently dont have an analog drum machine.
so i stumbled upon a pack i was just about to buy but the image sort of made me think twice.
idk just liked the aesthetics but also more importantly i think it’s time to invest in an analog percussion rack.
im sure it would pay off in the long run, not only financially but also from a sound design standpoint.
spent more than enough already from past sample pack purchases to just buy a rack module.
and i know i’ll most likely carry on this bad habit so to say so finally i think it’s best to just give it a go.
im certain it will also help level up my sound craft as well, which is something im starting to care about more as i mature as a producer.
anyways here’s the image from a sample pack i was going to buy.
anyone familiar with this? and could maybe give some slight insight into it.

just want a simple rack to start btw. a percussion module that can do drums along with other related percussive various sounds.
also was planning on just sampling them with my mpc.
not trying to spend much, for now just sub 500$ or 400$. but also not sure how good of racks you can get for that much with what i want.
(if i could achieve this at a lower cost too, of course i wouldn’t mind paying less)
one more note- im aware there’s individual modules for each drum kit sound more or less.
well only know about the Erica synths modules, like one for drum and one for snare etc.
but for now im just looking for sort of a simple all-in-one percussion module.
it’s been contemplated, but there’s a couple reasons. one being the one i really really want, the Rytm mk2, is out my price range.
i know why not the mk1 huh. well i already have a mpc so was thinking i could get just as good of sounds from a rack with less of the money.
also too…i just like the aesthetics of rack modules haha…say what you will.
and even more so i think it’s time to give eurorack a shot.
I’ve got that module. It’s cool indeed but the lack of sync on the LFO is a little rubbish for certain things. It’s well thought out though and great if you want too make noise/drones/fm modulation. It sounds great also.
If the RYTM mk2 is out of your price range, don’t go into eurorack. Though, I suppose a carefully constructed analog drum setup miiiiight sneak in around $1000.
Older generally means better lol. At least for me.
Never used it for drums - wouldn’t ever think of it tbh but that’s me.
And no - I wouldn’t I hardly use it anymore due too the lack of sync and i’m not in my drone period - that’s for winter.
Why not get a dedicated drum module? I’ve just picked up the WMD Crater and it’s kicks are some of the best i’ve heard. I’ve had about 7 drum machines in the pas couple of years and so far this is the best one. Totally subjective but i’d reccomend giving it a try if you have something too trigger it with.

BIA + Crater + SY.05 + Doepfer slim noise + lopassgate like the LXD and you are covered for a lot of drum sounds but even with a skiff or small case you are at 1000 eur, even 2nd hand.
