Anyone else losing faith in Elektron?

Is faith still relevant in 2025?

Are you forgetting about the countless screen failures?

You get the point.
I did not have a single crash on my DN in the first 2-3 months. As I started creating more complex patterns with more features crashes came regularly.
Now I have an average 3-5 crashes per day.

And yes, I sent reports and tickets here un the forum and to the support team.
I have two Digitones, same issues, it is not hardware but software related.
Will they ever fix the issues? Probably not, bug fixing takes incredibly lot of time and hence money. The newer machines take priority.

Did I lose faith? No, it is the reality which I try to live with.

Electron live act safe? Depends on. I gigged with MD, MM, OT and Nord G2 at my hand plus my mate’s grooveboxes and Reason equipped PC all synced. Only OT with early firmware had crashed once.
Now I gig without MIDI sync so crashing machine won’t stop others in the chain.
MD with the factory firmware was rock solid from day one.
Not the unofficial X. firmware which is crashing, sometimes it won’t even start but so good I can’t stop using it.
The more tweaks we want to squeeze out from our boxes the more chance their limits exceeded and crash.
I switched to HW only in 2005 because it was safer and more fun.
Nowdays it is safer ITB, features are unlimited, you can create your own virtual environment in Max/MSP, PureData, VCV, etc., controllers makes it fun.
In 3-4 years AI will tweak Max/MSP like AE and game over.

It’s toxic, and annoyingly now just a vehicle for the usual (literally this time) shit-posting junk

There’s no need to fuel the fire, the concern has been made, there’s no arguing with an opinion which is valid, but it’s not achieving anything but a dopamine fix for a few others and creating the kind of forum atmosphere we don’t need (or want) here

This is going nowhere, but the point has been made and can’t be addressed any sooner than it will be … it’s reeking of an “are we there yet?” situation - when it’s obvious we aren’t - it’s ultimately just a topic to pour toxicity into now and serves nobody any constructive purposes save the op and others who have expressed their frustrations, but now it only serves to drag us downwards

Unfortunately it’s hard to argue that a post-release update/fix has been slow to manifest … Elektron are a small team, but i wonder if this is more due to the ‘freezing’ they seem to do when working on parallel OB integration, especially as there’s no initial OB release for the DN2 yet

So let’s leave it there for the health of this forum. As a moderator of its health it’s the right thing to do, there’s no solution, just a need for patience, and maybe some faith
