No reply after 3 days! Some people lost €2000!
I just checked my kickstarter and it says successfully completed ffs!

That sounds like money is gone.
O my god, I would be mad, I even can’t!

Sad. I guess I was just lucky :-/

I don’t want to defend them but I guess that’s pretty normal if you sent them an email on saturday. Yesterday was a public holiday in France.

Ok I didn’t know that hopefully I can get a vst for my money!

I wonder what the lifespan of the VST will be since it’s doubtful it will ever be updated.

Over 40 years I’ve been playing and using hardware but this is the first time I experienced losing £900 so when I posted I was very angry, red mist took over since there was a working prototype (and I backed the Anyma phi) so why it took 2 years for the money to dwindle then to get to bankruptcy it doesn’t add up to me but stole is too strong a term!
.
To add insult to injury my kickstarter say it was successfully completed!

I did receive a response so now I have the vst but I have not installed it as is reminder.

Onwards and upwards.

indeed it was successfully funded. The problem is when the making the reward is the goal of the kickstarter campaign… nothing on kickstarter forces the project creator to do that… and there is an obvious conflict of interest, when one promises a reward that has yet to be produced…

before kickstarter, crowdfunding was basically like kids raising money for a school trip by selling cookies or pies. People buying the cookies were not going to the trip with the kids… the goal of the crowdfunding campaign and the reward backers got was not the same thing. Kickstarter made crowdfunding akin to pre-orders, without of course any consumer law protecting backers…

Kickstarter would do well to add some sort of rating system for CEOs/Kickstarter managers:
[1] total noob

[10] Experienced, realistic, responsible, capable, proven manager

I fear it’s somewhere about [5] that the high risk ‘own bathwater drinking’ fantasists exist. Not my first Kickstarter loser. But this one was surprising as looked on the surface like an enterprise of responsible substance.

Will management personnel be blacklisted from Kickstarter in the future? would also be a nice feature.

we can discuss it in the general thread

But every time someone says “KS should do this or that”, I ask the person why? KS has no incentive to change their business as long as people keep backing projects on that platform. Kickstarter claims they do no due diligence, it is entirely up to the backers. and indeed, if they started doing that, it would open them to all sort of legal liability.

They’d be liable plus they have no monetary incentive to do it either. They got money from this kickstarter whether you got your synth or not. They are definitely gonna be more inclined to get as many kickstarters to be successful as possible so they can get their cut.

(I am under the assumption that they only get paid when a kickstarter is successful, not actually sure if that’s how it works or if companies have to give them money up front or whatever)

I was under the impression Kickstarter gets their 5% of funding raised regardless of whether a product makes it to launch or not… It’s about reaching the funding goals I think?

That would make more sense. Most businesses make sure they get theirs no matter what.

Latest status on “Aodyo” in post from ccr.

I would be so happy for the Omega to be resurrected. More importantly for backers to be reimbursed whether with money or a finished product, of course. It had such potential and was such a great idea. I know it was worse for the Kickstarters (of whom I very very nearly became a part of), but I was bummed to see this fall apart.

One step at a time.

I would just be happy to be able to change the damn title on this thread.

Not quite yet. Somebody buying what might or might not become an asset, doesn’t yet provide the justification for a new title.

Now some sort of public announcement with some sort of indication of intent, and we can think about putting a new title here.

Anyma Omega Phoenix ??

I don’t see this happening, that would be incredible if so. Money’s gone, there’s a new legal entity, new ownership, they’re not going to take in/spend a huge lump of startup cash to reimburse. Best I think one can hope for in a case like that is a discount
