An update! It is confirmed that the Desktop version will get a Loom-like ribbon. No mention of the keyboard version yet.
Just to have the previous mockup side by side…
And also bring the electronics board they shared last November, to see whether there are other changes…

So you will be able to use it as 4 control pads or 8 faders as well! That’s cool!
The last paragraph from the update :
The end of this campaign has allowed us to resume our work on the ribbon, as well as the polyphonic aftertouch keyboard, which should be the topic of our next news item.
Look forward to that.
As a user of the Hydrasynth Keys which has the conventional version of ribbon, with a poly-aftertouch keybed, the ways these two interfaces work together adds a lot to the expressive capabilities.
I am thinking the possibilities with the expanded ribbon system, in addition to the multitimbral synth engine, and all the other interfaces, on a physical modeling synth, will open the expressive possibilities even further.
The keyboard will also receive the same possibilities but with a twice larger ribbon (a kind of 4 octaves Loom).
You all have a lot of very fun, creative work ahead of you !
This is amazing. Worth the wait, and I wish this will double the amount of eyes looking at the Omega with interest.
Latest demo of the poly-aftertouch keybed. The code for that is “finalized” this month.
Also reported in the update :
We are now attending to the expressive touchpad before heading back towards the display and editing parts of the Omega.
I wonder how many more synths I’ll buy and return because I forgot I preordered this holy grail of synths.
I love to do this. Trying new things to see if it fits your needs.
Well I have everything I need! Except for the Omega
Update:
“We are also laying the groundwork of the display and editing parts of the Omega software and firmware, and we expect to be able to tell you more about it next time.”
This is what they say at their web-site :
The virtual counterpart to Anyma Phi, a hybrid physical modelling virtual instrument that blends electronic music elements with advanced physical modelling technology. It simulates acoustic sounds like strings and reeds, as well as resonating structures such as wood, glass, and metal. Compatible with any MIDI controller, including MPE controllers and DAWs, Anyma V offers polyphonic capabilities and seamless patch transfer with the Anyma Phi hardware synthesizer. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux in standalone and plugin formats (AU, VST3).
Polyphonic Anyma Phi.
Also note they are using the new Omega keybed in this demo.
Also note from their update on the Omega out today :
Anyma V is available right now, and we have included a free license for you, as a backer of the Omega campaign.
For everyone else it is on sale for $79 USD, regularly $159. I don’t know the cost in your money if you are fortunate enough to live outside the USA.
Exciting, but also the plugin is crashing in Bitwig for me. In standalone I can’t get it to make a sound, even the ‘test audio’ function doesn’t seem to be working with my audio output settings.
Anyone having luck with Anyma Phi V?
Yep, exactly the same for me. It crashes in Bitwig and no sound in Ableton, Reaper or in standalone.
It just doesn’t work.
edit : I’m on a Mac btw
Works fine so far for me on WIN11 VST3… impressed with the vst version as I don’t have any Aodyo hardware yet.
Somewhat a crowded GUI given with the tonne of features - but many may like like that. It’s nice and ‘flat’ (without needless graphics and animations).
Same with me. VST crashes Bitwig on my M1 Mac, standalone opens but no sound…
Which host? After failing to get it working on mac I tried on Windows with several different hosts and had just the same problems.
