About a week ago my 9th sequencer/trig key started glitching out (key/step 9 on the sequencer, triggers track 1). I read over on the old elektron users forum about some issues, seems like some guy was able to send it to Georgia to have it fixed?
I couldn’t find a bunch on here about this, but am curious if any of you have had luck with the Elektron service centers (??) recently? I started filling out a support form and Elektron’s website said they’re behind? Interested if any of you can share a story that might explain how far “behind” they actually are?
More info: basically at this point, if I touch the trig key in question, if in grid mode, a trig will be placed on step 9, at which point hitting the key repeatedly seems to be the only thing that undoes the placement. Often, I will be unable to exit grid mode until the step is undone. Also, when triggering track 1, the samples never seem to play like they should, they’ll play a second late, or double-hit, or even not play at all. The worst is when the track just completely drops out during playback. Or if I have a pattern 9 in the bank, it will stick on that pattern or loop with another. Anyway, just some more info.
So, you think contacting/shipping to Elektron is worth it right now? I can manage for the time being if they’re going to keep my OT for longer than a week!
Hey man. I feel your pain…
I had mine fixed 2 months ago. It took them 3-4 weeks to fix the sequencer button issue (stuttered button) and they fixed the fader (loose when on scene A- suddenly jumped to full scene B) and some encoder knob that was loose that I didn’t even know. I sent it to Sweden to Elektron headquarters.
I was thinking like you. Should I send it to get it fixed now or wait for better time to send it. I suggest you send it right away. The sooner you send it the sooner it will be back… It will be faster if you are in Europe… I sent it from Slovenia.
You could order spare parts from elektron and get a local tech to do the repair… its a very straight forward job. You will potentially void any remaining warranty but thats up to you. Goodluck
Alright sounds promising from you guys although I submitted a support request/ticket through the elektron main site (elektron.se) about six days ago and haven’t heard anything from them yet
I think I’m just gonna bite the bullet and ship my ot when I hear back from them - hopefully sooner than later. Anybody else waiting on elektron support to reply back? Maybe that’s in another thread already…
This fine gent speaks the truth. He did a great job replacing a pot and doing a psu fix and works perfect.
Your best bet if you cant find anyone local is to find someone here as theres a certain inherent trust between members. I just dropped my OT with Anlogs flatmate - no probs!
