Any rocking two digitakts?

See a cheap digitakt on Craiglist anyone using two dt? What’s the advantages

Search the forum for Dave mech. He uses 2 and and has posted videos of the workflow and of him using them live.

Only advantage I can think of is extra tacks and being able to send midi to one DT from the other (extra LFO). Aside from that id say a second DT is more of a luxury and id probably be able to find something else that would enhance your setup better.

I do and it’s awesome.

You can use them the way djs use records. Super efficient for live sets. And very compact too.

Of course, Dave Mech does it better. Check his sets.

@umonox said he was getting an extra digitakt in one of his videos but never posted a 2 x digitiakt jam. Personally i would love to have 2 of them.

The very sad reason why i havent used them in tandem just yet: I dont have a real Audio Interface, i never did  And since OB 2 is still not released i was too lazy using the Octatrack as a Mixer for these beauties and the Heat behind the OT to finally record them with OB 1.

Long story short: The necessity to use two other Machines that basically do nothing - just to be able to record two Digitakts … held me off so far.

I’d see the benefit of two DTs would be if you have a mixer or something between them.

For sequenced music it might be helpful to be able to dynamically shift between sounds and stuff.

Or if you use all the tracks on one for percussion. Use the second for more musical elements

Edit: but I typically only use about 4 or 5 tracks for percussion- so it’s not a necessity

So whats it like to have 2 x digitakts?

I absolutely need to know where to get that case! I have a Digitakt/tone combo and I’m struggling to find anything that’s even half as good as the case in this pic. Please share if you could, thanks!

Check out Dave Mech’s case. He houses two digitakts a digitone a heat and an Allen and Heath DB4’s mixer. Super compact and super deadly!

there you go: https://www.thomann.de/fr/casefactory.html

I have two Digitakts and here is the reason…
I use both with two modular rigs. I have two polyend Poly’s and each system is perfectly integrated. I get 16 tracks of midi to cv + Gate + velocity + modulation and 16 tracks of short samples which I use for mainly higher frequency short samples. An absolute awesome live setup!

Hello,
I’m asking myself if owning 2 DT have an intereset?
I can imagine this is usefull for a non stop live like Dave Mech show but for a home studio, is any improvement of owning more than one DT?

Depends on what you think you would need a second dt for.

He did an overview of his rig here:

This is the case he used: https://www.getinthemix.com/accessories/equipment-cases-bags/dj-pa-cases/gc-ldjc.htm

I have the medium sized version: https://www.getinthemix.com/accessories/equipment-cases-bags/dj-pa-cases/gc-mdjc.htm
