Any *portable* samplers (or ios app) for keyboard players?

Update:

So I’m looking at beatmaker pro 3 (which I already had lol) and noticed there’s a “keys” button and a “64” button that gives you 64 buttons, C3-D#8. Then when you go to song mode, you can assign a MIDI channel to each bank.

So now the trick is to find a good ios slicer that will fill in the notes. I found Auditor which does slicing and exports as individual wav files to a folder (or apple loop), so you can export to a beatmaker pro folder. It doesn’t appear to add the in between notes (such as if you record minor thirds or fifths across the keyboard), and you have to tell it what each slice is.

Also found an Auv3 audio recorder by 4Pockets on ios called Neon Audio Editor so I can record my various ios synths. They also have an Auv3 sampler called Chameleon. Will have to experiment. It looks like this will keep me busy for a while. Thanks for all the suggestions! It really helped me think through the problem.

KO2 is super dope… I would always recommend it over other stuff like Roland etc… but it definitely doesn’t multisample though. I think that grapefruit thing is by far the best option… and really cool looking too… lol

Update… just discovered AUM, where I can bring multiple virtual synths and set a midi channel for each. Which is cool because I have tons of ios virtual synth apps that I’ve accumulated over the years. I just never got into combining them to build any beats or compositions. Also, found that BeatMaker 3 has a slicing feature and a mapping feature and midi clock time stretch, so you can build a single instrument for a bank. Could be a bit more automated, but since I already have the app, might as well go with it.

I never got into composing inside the iPad (I have a Pro/M2) because I just don’t like sequencing in a computer. But with the OXI One doing the heavy lifting on the sequencing side of things, I can just set up rigs inside AUM with less load on the CPU than a full-featured solution like Ableton. This is pretty cool for a portable rig, it’s like a whole new world opened up.

I did see mentions of other ios virtual instrument hosts in this thread, which I may check out later, but this will keep me busy for a while.
