It’s sad to hear they will only be receiving 2 units. I am cancelling my preorder. Elektron has left a negative impression on me and I won’t support a company or retailer like JRR that fails to provide a prepaid in full order… last time I checked, a preorder is supposed to help someone get something sooner rather than later.
I wouldn’t cancel. If you are part of the top 20 JRR preorders you will eventually get it. Anyone after that is going to wait a good amount of time. Don’t lose your place in the queue! You’ll regret it in a couple of weeks when more people have their preorders filling in.
Sit back. Play with your other drum machines and wait this out.
I’m in the top 15 and I expect the same as well. I just got my os 3.10e for my mpc60 and a usb floppy emultor for it. That will keep me occupied until then.

Hi all!
I got an update from Elektron today regarding a soft ETA for our RYTM order.
They said that we should be receiving ALL of them “within 10 days.”
Additionally, he stated that he would follow up with a more accurate figure by the end of the day!
I’m very excited to finally get some new news. Can’t wait to get my hands on this bad boy.

I got an update from Elektron today regarding a soft ETA for our RYTM order.
They said that we should be receiving ALL of them “within 10 days.”
Additionally, he stated that he would follow up with a more accurate figure by the end of the day!
I’m very excited to finally get some new news. Can’t wait to get my hands on this bad boy.
I appreciate all of your patience and I will continue notifying you here of any future updates.

I received the very same email but confirmed yesterday the info here: 2 units next week. The guy i spoke to said he was going off “secondhand” info. I expressed how inconsistent the news has been. He was nice enough to put me on hold and check with elektron themselves. Lo and behold, 2 units with no guarantee on the others.
What a ******* mess.
Anything could have happened between bennys letter and the most recent news. Maybe sweetwater caught wind of the 20 units being shipped and raised hell at elektron hq. Maybe elektron is taking revenge on jrr for offering a coupon. Maybe whoever told them twenty was completely wasted and wanted to play a joke on us poor souls.
Either way im sticking it out with jrr. Im 14 in line and satisfied if it comes by early july. This has been such a roller coaster and i don’t want to get into someone else’s car.
But i do know something for certain: if you want it early you pay direct.
Btw this board has gotten hilarious: the haves and have-nots. All the cool kids giddy and ecstatic with their shinny new toys while we stay in the corner scowling ans grumbling to ourselves, playing with our tired old nothings.

Sweetwater also does not charge your cc until the unit ships to your door, a much more favorable policy IMO.

to me it’s not really about being school kids or impatient or anything else
it’s the ridiculousness of not being able to get a straight answer
either elektron has shipped someone units or they haven’t…plain and simple
elektron needs to just tell them and stop beating around the bush…and the retailers need to be straight with their customers, either units are on the way or they aren’t
I’m not cancelling my order and I like my elektron gear but the way this whole thing is being handled needs improvement

Yes in June, I am meaning shipping right now, it doesn’t take a month to ship.

I’m also in the first batch at sweetwater, I do find it hard to believe another US shop would get them before sweetwater but you never know.
I’m not counting on any dates at this point.
it’s funny to do a compare/contrast on two recent hot announcements, moog sub37 and elektron rytm…I guess moog just has a lot of experience in the area of releasing hot items
Reddogmusic (uk) are showing it as ‘in stock’ on their website. Not sure how true that is.

FWIW, I spoke to someone at JRR today who said that they have 20 units on order and 2 of them are on the way, presumably by boat. No comments on when the others will show up.
They also said that I’m getting one of the two, but I called them to order it before they even knew it existed. We shall see.
I decided to go with the sub37 for now - MD + A4 + OT are keeping me plenty occupied for the summer (and probably fall as well!) - AR will most likely be a birthday gift for me in December.
All in all, as far as the AR release goes… I’m actually more on Elektron’s side here. They actually, to me, managed their communications very well - they did their little “just one more thing” teaser… then a few weeks (maybe a month?) later we see AR at NAMM… then again at MM (along with some GREAT promos by a couple forum members here)… then the announcement about pre-sale availability… then the pre-sale… then they start shipping.
Moog… well, I honestly have been let down by them… announcement again at NAMM, then… nothing. A few trickles here and their through various youtube videos, but really, nothing much else has been said since January. It’s now May, pre-orders were taken months ago, and if you read the various forum posts, you can believe it will ship later this month, or in June, or in July, or in August, or… literally… by the end of the year (I’ve read each of these statements!)
My belief is AR will be in the hands of all who pre-ordered long before the Sub37 goes into production. Not that I’m even remotely tempted to cancel.
