Hoping someone from Elektron can speak to this. As someone who’s purchased from a retailer in Canada, were orders from retailers placed before April 22nd filled with the initial stock, or are we now waiting for more to be manufactured? Very excited and very impatient!
I approximately need to know this also but related to US stores since Ill be there for limited time and i have the chance ( maybe
All I know is the date gets pushed back again and again. Last week was May 12th and now it is June 2nd.
I pre-ordered from Sweetwater literally the second that I saw the first NAMM video, I am the first Pre-order there. I decided not to order from the Elektron store because I wanted to honor my commitment that I made with Sweetwater and I wanted a point of accountability in the US. I figured that at least a few small batches would go out to large retailers when they filled the orders from the Elektron store.
I wish Elektron would have said something like “Hey, order from the store or wait 2 more months”, not any transparency here.
Thank goodness that I have other gear to make music on, I really was wanting an AR for working on my live set, the simple sampler would be a big bonus with the drums. Now…IDK, I am considering other options, I don’t like companies that aren’t straightforward with customers.
Spoke to a jrr shop rep today and he confirmed that they will be receiving their preorders within 10 days. Here’s hoping that you will receive yours soon.
I ordered from a retailer in Sweden, even they dont got it yet…
I want my machine…
and no info on when they recive it…
Sorry Zonta, I almost certain that there is no way JRR is getting theirs before Sweetwater. JRR hasn’t had one Analog Keys yet AFAIK and Sweetwater has delivered some. I think Sweetwater is Elektron’s largest retailer in North America.
Here is hoping that we all get our orders soon!

I’m new to this but do people have experience with retailers and/or manufacturers straight lieing to people? 10 days is what jrr claims elektron told them. Would elektron lie to jrr? Would jrr lie to us? I don’t have the experience, so I’m curious if anyone does so I know what to expect…
Not sure if this is correct, but usually there’s a distributor in between so who knows.
Wish Elekton would just tell us but I completely understand from a business perspective why they won’t comment on anything but direct sales from the elektron.se website.
I’ve already received the Analog Keys that I ordered from JRR.
there’s an MDUW and AK in stock at their store right now too for anyone who’s interested
I know you guys are in a rush to get your RYTMs but we’re all in the same boat here, I don’t think Elektron plays favorites like that.

My rep at Sweetwater has said all along that Elektron gives all kinds of dates but he doesn’t put any stock into those dates until they have a tracking #. After being in touch with him from the announcement of the AR until now, and all of the different dates that he has told me (with the caveat about it not being a firm date), I understand his thoughts. When I told him that the Elektron shop had sold a batch directly through their store, he started getting upset, rightfully so. He started talking about how much their Support Techs support Elektron products, etc. So from a pure Buiness-to-Business stand point, Elektron is doing a big no no, you don’t upset your channel partners. Distributors shouldn’t be taken for granted, most especially large ones.
To dispute nirun a bit, Elektron is playing favorites, direct sales over retailers. I do understand that direct sales is important to Elektron but to totally ignore an equally important channel of distribution seems strange. Not that every order at every retailer needed to be filled but a few ARs being sent out would show good will to people that incur a lot of costs and hassle as their distributor.

Okay, I was wrong but my point was that compared to Sweetwater, JRR is a much smaller retailer and I wouldn’t think that JRR would have priority over Sweetwater…but obviously I have no direct knowledge.
My retailer here in the UK reckoned I’d have my Rytm at the end of last week.
It hasn’t landed yet.
I 100% agree with you Delta, they SHOULD take care of us who choose to purchase from a local retailer, and sweetwater, schneidersladen, moogaudio, etc who have been carrying Elektron stuff for a long time all probably have customers who are feeling the same way.
And here is the kicker- demand is exceeding supply at the moment and the Elektron team is definitely being pushed mentally and physically at the moment with everything so they will have to focus on direct sales first as they have complete control over this.
When my unit and yours arrives over here, there’s going to be holdups in customs, distributors playing favorites, and countless other factors that Elektron has no say in so I can’t really blame them for sorting out the individuals who have dealt with them directly first.
-
Logistics- They have to ship/shipped almost 1000 units, test, package, label printing etc
-
Customer support- All of the customer support questions from potential customers asking questions about the RYTM, when their order is being shipped, technical issues (lots of first time elektron users)
-
R&D- Bug fixes and software development, they are definitely working hard to improve the OS and flesh out features and tackle bugs as they pop up
AFAIK Elektron team members wear many hats, and from the lack of posts from the regular Elektron employee mods I don’t think it’s fair to pester them further.
The dust will settle in a month or two and everything will be back to normal I’m just super excited to hear all the new music and interact with the new user base that this RYTM will bring
That some good vibes for the end of the month for those who pre-ordering few month ago. But i think there’s a real rush on this machine release, Drum Layering Analog + Sample with Pad, i think this attract and seduce a lot of people. We just have to wait a bit and we can all make good track this summer… I hear a lot of people claim their money or modify their order to roland aira or something. DO NOT ! BE PATIENT
EDIT: but sure i can’t wait too
hahah i culled my impatience by getting in to eurorack. I recommend the same if any of y’all are losing sleep over your order… if you think you’re yearning bad for the Elektron stuff, hohoho just take a hit of the EUROCRACK and you’ll forget all about it
I prefer my modular to have banana cables (Serge and Modcan A is what I am rocking).

I’ve been hearing “any day now”, “two weeks” etc. for my Octatrack that I ordered from JRR on Jan. 10th. I’ve heard it from Elektron, as well as from JRR after speaking with Elektron.
The best one yet was the email I received from Elektron on April 22nd, when Elektron actually told me that they had already shipped and should arrive “any day now”, despite the fact that it never appeared in stock in their webshop, nor had any retailers in my country heard anything confirming this. Maybe something was lost in translation? Because it’s hard to see that as anything but a lie, as it is two weeks later and nobody has received a new OT.
Elektron have also stressed to me that they don’t prioritize direct sales or certain retailers, both via email and on this forum (and seemed a bit annoyed at the suggestion that they would do otherwise), but it sure looks like they might do that. From what I gather, this is just how Elektron does things. Eventually, your order will ship, but WHEN is a crapshoot, and I’m not sure any response about the timeframe, either from your retailer or Elektron, is accurate.
Sadly, this experience has soured me greatly on Elektron as a company. I don’t make a lot of money, so deciding to plunk down the kind of cash required to buy a new Elektron device isn’t a choice I make lightly; that said, I’ve been a happy customer and bought my MDUW and Monomachine new as well, because I wanted to support the company. After this experience, if I decide to purchase another Elektron device it will probably be used-I could have saved some money, and actually been making music with it instead of sitting on my thumbs for 5 months.
Your situation with the OT is far worse than ours with the AR. That is insanity.
Someone is telling falsehoods somewhere. It’s hard not to look at Elektron .
I would (probably) be fine waiting if Elektron were a bit more sincere about availability dates. But from what I’m gathering it doesn’t seem to be that way. Maybe Elektron’s suppliers are giving them bad information on materials or whatever… and it’s not of their end? IDK. I just think that from my experience with the AR and ALL the stories I’ve heard about the Octatrack/AK, Elektron hasn’t been very sincere with their customers.
In addition, there is definitely favoritism going on - considering all the direct orders who’ve gotten theirs. This is just hearsay, I can’t confirm this, but I’ve heard “famous” producers have certainly gotten theirs. It’s all very dubious.
So it’s a small company with growing pains. Fine. But they need to own up to it instead of taking everyone’s patience for a ride.
EDIT: on second thought if you were a company would you want to tell people “we’re glad you’ve already promised us your hard earned cash. however, we have no idea when you’ll get the product. but thanks anyway!”
it’s tough.
but seriously: q1 -> not q1 -> “imminent” -> the opposite of imminent -> available now, but not shipping -> shipping! except for a lot of direct orders and all retailers.
come on.
two sides of it…
the direct order people were going to be upset if elektron shipped to retailers before them
the retail orders were going to be upset if elektron prioritized their direct sales
my personal opinion is that elektron should have done it fair with allocation…
i.e. 1000 units on first run, 100 to retailer X, 100 to retailer Y, 500 direct sales, etc etc…
from what I can tell not a single retailer received any units which means if that is the case they prioritized direct sales…not a good thing to do your channel sales
