Any Clark fans up in here?

His stuff is much happier now than it was when he started out. Empty the Bones of You, I think, did an excellent job of being a very aggressive and colorful sorta melancholy. Body Riddle might have introduced happier themes. But ever since Iradaphelic it’s definitely been more on the happy side–which, you know, is good for him. I want darker stuff.

It wasn’t until the initial impression wore off where this album wasn’t as good as I thought it was. That sorta joyful funk sound feels a little repetitive from his previous two albums. The atmosphere he puts into the album might be the richest he’s made since Body Riddle. But musically, I’m not as impressed. Still is my 4th favorite album of his, though after Empty, Body, and Totems

Never got into this Clark, but I do like Mark Bell’s Clark

+1 on the self-titled… it bangs harder and it’s less cluttered than the new one. he talked about the Annihilation (book) trilogy after its release, saying that Clark is somehow based on it. The first book is pretty cool, medium-hard sci fi, easy read
