Another silly bug?

Here’s another bug with 1.25 H.

Not as bad as ‘changing to/from dynamic recorders silences your project’ but still really annoying. Would be really confusing for someone new to the OT:

Samples get assigned to wrong machine, wrong slot

Could be an issue with my OT or my card but i suspect not. Would appreciate if anyone can confirm if it happens to them. Thanks!

To test:
Create a new project and assign Track 8 as FLEX machine, RECORDING 8.
Create another new project and just double click PLAYBACK, then press > (RIGHT).

This SHOULD set the OT to assign a sample to Track 1, STATIC SLOT 1, right? The default.
Instead it assigns a sample to FLEX RECORDING 8.

(track1 remains a STATIC machine and slot 1 remains empty. you have to move off of slot 1 and go to assign a different slot to get it to work normally again)

I get variations of the above. Seems to depend what you were doing in the previous project or like now I’m getting it trying to assign to STATIC 5 when the cursor was on STATIC 1. It doesn’t browse to the AUDIO folder either…

And what happens when you press up/down before pressing right?

If that works, the bug is that it is failing to identify the correct slot that should be used when changing the machine, because the reference is not refreshed.

Thanks for the quick response Rusty. I was just editing my post to include pretty much exactly that! it DOES work ok if you move off of slot 1.

If you’re right that SOUNDS like an easy fix for the next release…

Whats happening is that when the internal list is being refreshed, it is not reasssigning the correct slot as the “current slot”…

Nice solve Rusty :+1:

I am on 1.25e here and it seems like every OS version I’ve ever had did this.
I’m always assigning a sample and having it show up to some formerly used slot down the list.
