Another new & proud member

Hi, I have recently bought an Analog Four. I think it’s the greatest bit of kit I’ve ever owned. And it’s all down to the sequencer.

I’m hoping to add an Octatrack soon.

2 things I haven’t been able to figure out:

  1. Can you rotate a track? Ie change step 9 to step one, then step 8 becomes step 16.
  2. When I tried to make one track 3 bars & the other 3 tracks 4 bars, the 3 bar track just repeated the 1st bar once then played the other 2. Ie 1,1,2,3 while the others played 1,2,3,4. Anyone know what I did wrong? Or is that expected behaviour.

Thanks.

You can move all the trigs of a pattern in grid mode : fn + arrows

  1. answered 2) overall pattern length needs to be higher or even infinite, then the repeating will be less obvious and the threes will be threes as long as it’s divisible in your overall length or is set to inf

welcome to the A4 and to the forum!

The Analog Four is a fantastic and inspiring synth. Took me a while to realize how deep and versatile it really is.

Welcome!

Have fun with your new friend…

The parameter you want to pay attention to is “LEN” on the right hand “MASTER” side of the ADV section of the SCALE menu.
And welcome!
A4 is my favorite piece of kit, of all time. So deceptively deep.

Thanks guys
