Analogue 19” Rack Effects

Hi all,

I’m looking out for analogue rack fx / signal processors. Something unique and simple, and not too expensive. Seen the BBD 320 & the Teaching Machines Wellspring (very nice indeed, but not very cheap). Not looking for distortion, got that well covered.

Any suggestions?

If you diy Oakley has some nice things…

Vermona has a couple but rack stuff hasn’t been too much of a thing since plugins. If you want cheap(er) there are a lot more options with older digital like half-rack boss stuff or deltalab delays.

Also, check out Van Daal Electronics, Jürgen Haible’s designs are fantastic…

Also, not exactly 19" but BugBrand has rack ears for his frames and his stuff is analogue (and fabulous)…

Thanks, unfortunately I don’t do DIY electronics. I like the Jurgen 20 Pole Phaser, and found Vermona Action filter, could be fun.

Bugbrand is cool but too much like Eurorack - have fx in my Eurorack. Just want a big lump that’s simple to use and interesting to fill the gap in my 19 inch rack

At what price point is considered too expensive?

Over a few hundred

Roland DEP-3 can do chorus, reverb (multiple types), and delay. I bought it because it was cheap but it has quickly become my favourite fx unit in the rack. I love crappy 80s digi delays and this does that.

These sometimes pop up between $200 and $300…

There are different versions as I recall.

These are pretty cool but all digital I believe.

There is the Alesis 3630 compressor, famously used by Daft Punk, they seem to go for a few hundred.

With that budget you could get some banger software and it would need less stuff like cables, power, ins and outs etc.
