Analog Rytm vs. Analog Keys

I am producing techno and house and i am going to buy my first gear ever and i have only been using DAW’s.

I prefer creating rhythms over melodies. (and i hate software synts). Wich one should i buy?

You prefer rhythms over melodies = Analog Rytm
Hate software synths = Analog Keys

For what it’s worth, both machines are capable of doing both but they shine more in their specific territory.
I guess you’ve got a decision to make, watch some videos and do some research…

Justus

I have both.

When only my ar is at home, i am happy
When they are both at home, i am very happy
When only my ak is at home, i am just a little happy.

With rytm i Can make a lot, and iTS tweakability is amazing…

Is it har to learn how to program the AR?

No, it´s very intuitive and easy.

The AR was my first Elektron Device. I hate reading manuals so I watched a Video Tutorial from Cuckoo before I bought the AR.

I made my first Beat / Pattern 30 Minutes after unboxing the AR.

I’d say it’s easy to get to grips with the basic functions of an AR, but learning everything is going to take a while… quite a lot of sophisticated functions under the hood

If you do techno (you know, Jeff Mills etc, that more industrial flavour than tech house etc), you’re going to love the AR :alien:

ar was my frist analog gear. In the beginning, i loved it because of the deep kick and bass, and because of the filters and lfos.

Now i understand more about it, and love the amazing thinks i Can do with thee scenes and performances. Industrial al very bright noise sounds and amazing workflow.

It took me a day to use it, and a few montis to explore and do more with it.

Yes, i like Mills, Beyer ets. but i am also into deep house. And i guess that AR will boost my creativity.
