i can live without sampling… i have ableton for that. fact is that the rtym wont deliver the kick - i did think about the rtym… but i know the empty bass tones it gives out. blowing it out of the water is a bit strong to say the least
Having had both, i would say that the tanzbar kicks are better but not so much so that is a better machine. Ive already programmed excellent kicks in the rytm engine without much work. Also it isnt a sampler…running sequences and samples in the rytm is a completely different experience than ableton. Firstly im finding kits i used in ableton sound in comparably more full of life in the rytm. Part of that will be down to the timing of the engine and the other part will definitely be the analog compressors and filters. Ableton doesnt have analog filters for starters. Not dismissing ableton at all, its merits sell itself but i think so does the rytm.
